Will this just apply to his 4000 acres and not the rest?

Mariner, I’m in Exeter and currently in process of requesting quotes for PV/battery. Did you find the energy crises has put prices of systems up?

Dartmoor Bivvi

Evening all, A mate and I set out from Princetown on Saturday at around 4pm. Headed south east out of the town on the path and followed it down and around to Sheepstor and Burrator reservoir. The path is well made for couple of miles before it became more waterlogged, rutted and rocky due to water. ...

3-4 season sleeping bag

I’m looking for a bag that I could use through some of the colder months on Dartmoor in sheltered spots. I don’t intend to use below 0 degrees so 2-10 degrees I guess. I don’t want anything too bulky in size or weight and don’t want to break the bank. Appreciate I may be asking a lot! Any recommenda...

Re: Similar to Exposure, but not... is there such a thing?

Sorry I can’t help in recommending alternatives Shaf. I’ve had a Strada for 5 years and it’s never failed and battery is still strong. I bought that second hand so it must be 6 years old at least. I had a joystick before Which failed and as mentioned, the return and repair was easy and painless. I w...

Bloody typical weather

So annoyed, I’ve booked tomorrow and Friday off work to do a 60 miler/1night in Purbeck, Dorset. Got everything ready to go, all planned and been monitoring the weather forecast since the weekend which up until today has been steadily improving. Now they announce some serious weather coming in over ...

Tarp pitch question

I have a DD S tarp which has sewn loops but no eyelets. Does anyone have any tips on how to fix a corner of the tarp to the top of a BB Carbon pole? The sewn loops are obviously way to big to sit on top of the pole. Thanks in advance

From what I’ve read it’s £50 towards the cost. Anything over and you pay. Idea being it’ll get those unloved bikes back out on the road

Is that as in 'West Country Way'?
No, the coast to coast runs north/south through Devon. Ilfracombe to Plymouth or vice versa traversing Dartmoor. Some people add in Exmoor too. Good proportion of Traffic free cycle paths

Re: Dartmoor Bivvy site - updated

It’s a 2.8 x 1.5m which I think is 9x5 feet roughly. What I thought re a bigger tarp, probably square 3x3, is that it gives me a few more pitching options with ability to have proper sides and sometimes a small floor. Appreciate the flapping won’t be necessarily better, that was down to poor pitch a...

Re: Dartmoor Bivvy site - updated

I managed to get out after work on Thursday. Cycled up there around 5pm, takes about 1.5 hours. It was a really windy evening so tried my best to find a flat piece of grass that was sheltered enough from the wind but this proved harder than I imagined. In the end had a pretty bad nights sleep with t...
