Re: Mountaineering books
Seven summits by Steve Bell is a good collection of stories. The white spider Bicycles up Kilimanjaro If you're near Sheffield, then I could lend you the first two? Turns out I read a Seven Summits book back in the early Nineties, can't remember who wrote it though. The White Spider is on my list, ...

Mountaineering books
Got a hankering to read some mountaineering books. I've read all of Joe Simpson's stuff, done all the Bonnigton and Messner expedition reports from the 70's, Into Thin Air, A Short Walk in the Hindu Kush etc.
Anyone got any recommendations...?

Re: Bivvy a Month 2024
After an easy ride on Wednesday afternoon, I realised it was more than past the time to switch out the fast summer tyres and put something with more tread on. Which I actually did on Saturday morning, I'd rather have read my book,. but it's already turned into a clart fest round here. I had a really...

Re: (Winter) bib tights....over bib shorts?!!
I recall a Josh Ibbett video-possibly from Tour Divide-where he wore some thermal and rainproof bibs over his normal.bibs. He removed the chamois if I recall correctly? I think they were DHB Aeron Rain Defence? I could be wrong, so don't quote me! :???: Pretty sure I saw a video of him on the Tour ...

Re: (Winter) bib tights....over bib shorts?!!
In winter I generally wear my normal bib shorts under a pair of Endura Pro SL bib tights, that don't have a shammy. If it's really cold, then my Roubaix bib shorts go under. It can feel cumbersome at times, especially with all the shoulder straps, but then knee warmers generally either pull up, or f...

Yes, it's not Friday, but felt like I had to achieve something this weekend as I wasn't thrashing myself half to death in Wales. So broke out the Trend T3 Router I bought over twenty years ago and have never used . Made a wooden box type thing to house some UV tubes to do alternative photographic pr...

Just tried to buy a pump off the https://www.flextail.com/ site, which caused my bank to decline the transaction and freeze my card. Where did you all buy them from...? Cheaperer direct with FLEX10, than off ULOG or Amazon.

Re: Bivvy a Month 2024
After my aborted ride a few weeks ago, this was a just get it done effort. 7KM to a point where I though I might be able to chuck the tent up, as it was I had to drop down alongside a field, as the spot I'd been thinking about was a bit too as risk of being disturbed. https://media.bobarnott.com/gra...
