Just about to go and shove 1KG of coffee beans through my new grinder. I'm like a kid with a new toy... 😀 Bob. It's Friday evening, you should be drinking beer, not coffee! It was a kilo bag of the cheapest crap I could find, no way would I want to make anything with the resulting grounds. 🤮 Will b...

Re: What are you reading now?

Finished reading The Physics of Filter Coffee by Jonathan Gagné and bought a new coffee grinder yesterday. Also recently read: 1923 : The Mystery of Lot 212 and a Tour de France Obsession by Ned Boulting, which I thought was brilliant and strangely emotional; Ancillary Justice by Ann Leckie, so good...

Re: What you done t' your bike today

I've looked but they appear to be shaped in such a way that they'd cause me even more issues. The flat side-to-side shapes usually dig into my arse/leg/groin crease when I'm climbing (hips rotated forwards) and cause pain/numbness. Rounder and narrower shapes seem better for me but I've still not f...

Have you looked at the SQ Lab ones...? You can get most of the range from Tweeks Cycles. https://www.sq-lab.com/en/products/sadd ... e-2-1.html

No problem Boab. They're the Exped Camp Booties. A bit of a luxury item I suppose but I always take them on my winter bivvies. They've got a decent waterproof sole, too, incidentally. Here's the link and I notice they're now on at a reduced price: :-bd https://thebucketlistcompany.co.uk/product/exp...

Re: North York Moors 300

Bloody hell, one of the things I like about that route last year was that it wasn't a complete mission (a la BB300 :(( ) I see he has missed the railway line of headwind doom out and added the inclined plain. I think he was also going to try and remove some of the road riding in the forest. Yeah, i...

Just saw this as well. Wonder if Alpkit are struggling? They did seem to go all in with Sonder, I wonder if they've been caught out by the great bicycle bubble burst? Possibly clearing stock and managing cash flow to fund egravel bike stock? It's the mtb's that are on SP Wasn't there an announcemen...

Re: Bivvy a Month 2024

Rather than incur the wrath of the BaM rules overlords, I decided not to chance it with a double roller edition. I'm not saying never, just not this month. Given the weather forecast for rain, plus the need to take all my work stuff, laptop, clothes, coffee equipment, etc. I decided to head for a bi...

Nice one, sauerkraut has been on my list to try for a while. I've already dabbled with kefir and kombucha and have no real desire to go anywhere near kimchi; although I might then be able to make one I actually find palatable. In other cheery news, as of last night, I can now ice skate backwards! I ...

Had an actual pint, in an actual pub earlier. Can't remember the last time I did that. Moor Revival, in the Pint Shop (in Cambridge) for what it's worth.

We'll see - the entry questionnaire still required you to have an instagram account, even though it doesn't get used for tracking. So I just put a gobbildigook name in and I think I got some of the questions wrong... That's a hard no from me then. Shouldn't have to tell someone why they shouldn't b...
