Re: What you done t' your bike today
After two weeks of procrastination and literally doing anything, sanding and oiling the kitchen worktop for the first time in three years for instance, I've finally started to rebuild the RAG+. Drilled out a broken stem bolt, so I could refit the original 90mm stem, as the 100mm one I had been using...

Re: Yay, it's cheery Friday.
Another terrible night's "sleep", so might bunk off work this arvo and finally put the RAG+ back together so I can go and ride without getting muddy. Also, a big load of vinyl arrived yesterday and the wife is away for the weekend, hope my speaker doesn't mind going to 11...

Re: New Bike Gear Out And Due Out...
That'll get the 'standards' types foaming at the mouth. A bit heavy as well - 7.5kg plus. The fancy spesh road bike my boss was banging on about the other week is 6. No mention of price, doubtless in the "if you have to ask, your not in the market" category..... I wouldn't say no to a S-W...

Re: New Bike Gear Out And Due Out...
That's slightly perverse - all that tech to make it light and aero but if its got a motor then it will still only do 27kph. Target audience - rich idiots who want the look but can't be bothered putting in the miles. Yawn. Oh, you want a bike for rich idiots...? I give you the J.LAVERACK ASTON MARTI...

Re: Bivvy a month 2023.
I had a total of 6.27KM covered for my bivvy in January, was a there and back again effort. So do better than 3.1KM... Ooer, it's getting shorter. Unless Bear's was there and back. I just assumed it was one leg of a there and back bivvy! 3.76KM for the entire bivvy ride? That'd be a challenge...

Re: Bivvy a month 2023.
One wheeze I was thinking of for December was bivvying as close as possible to our house, bearing in mind we live right in the middle of the town. I just checked, and my current (non-COVID backyard) record is 3.76km. Ooh right, ta, what's that in real money... OK, 2.33 miles. Should be able to take...

Re: Bivvy a month 2023.
A total box ticking exercise this one, as I'm still caught in a serious post BB200 can't be arsed getting cold, wet and muddy mindset. I was supposed to go out Friday night, but ended up drinking beer and watching Barbie with my daughter. The original plan had been to head for an open sided barn ful...

Re: Bikepacking/bike bits for Palestine
Oh dear bob... I just pulled it out of my squished pack. It's a large sadly (but fits like the Rab Microlight of medium). I think when I bought it, I must've been between sizes as they seemed to have wierd sizing. Can you measure the internal armpit to armpit width and let me know what that is...?

If it is a medium, then I'll take that off you Shaf. As long as you're happy waiting till the start of the month for me to transfer the funds...redefined_cycles wrote: ↑Sat Oct 28, 2023 1:01 pm Criterion down jacket. Not been used properly yet. Med I think.

Re: Yay, it's cheery Friday.
Phew, another hectic week done, off out tonight but given the drookit weather forecast a shed awaits! (hopefully) I kind of feel I need to go out in crap weather to make up for all the sunshine I've cycled in this year... I was planning on going out tonight and kipping in an open sided barn, but I ...

Re: Bargain Alert Thread
Endura MT500 waterproof jackets (blue only) for £89.99 +postage on SportPursuit. I couldn't resist at that price. They had all sizes when I ordered (not sure what's left now). I've read mixed reviews of these (varying from rave to indifferent) but as I said I couldn't resist a £270rrp jacket for £8...

Ooh ooh me please Bob, (if Ton doesn't want them obviously) Like all my tyres, they're extensively patched. At least one of which might benefit from a proper tubeless mushroom repair... I'll dig them out and take some photos. Plus what do you want for the conti and the two WTB's posted?? Nothing, j...

FS: Selle Italia Model X Green Superflow
I have this saddle taking up space, it's the Selle Italia Model X Green Superflow . According to Selle Italia, it's L3 , or 145 mm in width, but the effective width is much, much less, due to to its curved nature; so this saddle is only suitable for those with narrow sit bones. I used it for a few t...

Re: The tyre amnesty thread - please join!
Right, time to try and reduce the pile of tyres in the shed... First up, a single Continental Terra Trail 700c x 40mm. Was the original rear tyre that I put on my gravel bike when I first built it. It's been run tubeless and tubed and comes with a Tannus Armour insert. As you can see, it's been punc...
