Great write up, enjoyed that, and looks like you had some luck with some sunny weather at least some of the time!! Ah, Y Felinheli, I have fond memories of that place, stopped there for lunch and a swim on a hot day 1 of my Route 8 trip. Reading this, and the number of quarries in tough to reach pla...

Re: Bivvy a Month 2024

So here my belated start-again-from-June BAM write up, from Saturday night 29th June. Just very local, and as you will see in a mo not exactly a glorious midsummer endless sunset followed by endless sunrise basking in warm summer sunshine kind of affair, but it felt good to manage to get out and do ...

Yes I reckon a discarded BBQ ... I'm sure the birds of prey are going to love the fish, but I do worry abou...

Also ordered the absolute essentials: A bed, and some speakers - everything else is clearly purely optional  A bed? A bed you say?!?!! Ardeche and Carmargue

Hi, has anyone ever done any riding and/ore bikepacking in that part of the South of France? If you have, please could you share any info or tips you have? I'm currently toying with the idea of taking my dad, or rather some of his ashes, on one last road trip, to some of the places he loved best, an...

Almost, almost, almost - at one point today it looked like we were actually going to complete on our new bijou shoebox in Brynmawr today - so that made for a very very cheery Friday and I was so excited I had to buy a celebratory double ice cream from Llanfaes Dairy (gooseberry crumble and raspberry...

Cheery Friday here, because there's at long last a bit of movement on the new house front...I use the word "house" loosely (tiny house before it became a trendy modern movement) - and no, I'm not talking subsidence either  Young Miss Z has got through two full weeks now of riding a mo...

As is probably obvious by now, I'm out :( May was quite the month family stuff wise... In hindsight, of course, if only I hadn't left it so late in the month, bla bla bla... Fatigue got the better of me on any free evenings with dog sitter available as the month went on, and then my last final tiny ...

Only recently found out about the 2014 Beeb production of Under Milk Wood, bringing together loads of Welsh talent, "phoning in" from lots of different locations... Michael Sheen, Tom Jones, Charlie Church, Sian Phillips, and more. Nearly bought a DVD but just found it on the Tube.... bes...

Re: Breakfast with a view.

Philosophical question: is breakfast still breakfast if it involves coffee, but not food? Let's just assume that it is, and that this counts as Breakfast with a View and a Half - admittedly no bike was involved - but if it wasn't for bikepacking I don't think I'd have thought of bringing a stove up ...
