Re: One less place to get a brew.
Oh that's a big shame. Had only recently been renovated and relaunched hadn't it? Had a stupendously excellent afternoon tea there once and have been meaning to go back... Maybe that's sadly the point, a lovely big place, must cost a fair bit to run, but not a huge amount of passing custom...or not ...

Re: WRT GR's
And if you're in the Wynnstay tonight, have a Poretti and a pickled egg for me please will you? If that gets taken literally and everyone has an egg, along with a beer, please can someone ensure nobody strikes a match afterwards? Not there tonight sadly, but would like the building to still be ther...

Beautiful pictures Lee
I'm pretty sure I've done the gloves on feet at some stage...in middle of the night ice block feet desperation....not sure it worked as well though as it obviously did for you

Re: Wildlife
Apparently exciting news (I need to read up on this properly), the new Osprey nest in Talybont, which has had a male occupying it patiently waiting for a female, has had a female join him this week. The lady who told me, with great excitement, said that he's been trying to mate with her but not much...

Re: Bivvy a Month 2024
April BAM last night, again in the nick of time... It was an "under the circumstances" type bivvy, just very local at a lovely spot I by the river which I have used a few times before, though not for a while actually, so it was really nice to be back there, and especially to find the nice ...

Re: Yay, it's cheery Friday.
Not cheery exactly, but a big sense of relief. After many years of struggling, then a couple of months of preparing myself, have this week sat down with the Mr and told him that I don't want to live with him any more. All rather difficult and sad, but he's taken it as well as I could have hoped, and...

Walking round favourite little woodland today, saw first bluebells out (there), and really happy to see that the ravens have rebuilt and are using the nest which got blown down last year.

Re: Hammock in the garden
Ok, am full of cold, so the maths lessons above are beyond me... I've got a freestanding frame thing, and a cheap as chips nylon hammock with carabiners. Tips? It certainly does if you forget not to park your bottom further in the middle or down towards the foot end than you'd think. Quite amusing t...

Re: Hammock in the garden
The idea of lazing in the hammock, at home, appeals to me. However, my garden has no trees, and there are no strong and suitably spaced fenceposts, either, so I was thinking that one of those free standing hammock frames might be worth a try. Has anybody done this, and have any advice? Length betwe...

Re: Yay, it's cheery Friday.
Sitting on a National Express on our way to the Eurostar for a Netherlands river cruise through the tulip fields, with my parents. Third time lucky I hope, with COVID and my dad being poorly getting in the way before. Apparently they have bikes on board that we can use to explore, not the ship obvio...
