Ermm, asking for a friend  , what would the group's take be, hypothetically, on someone breaking the covid rules slightly to do a BAM, keeping it very local and definitely not meeting a soul?? Best to test your eyesight first Thanks all, so my friend took your advice and tested her eyesight f...

Re: Winter Event 2021?

With our usual innovative spirit we'll have to come up with summat similar to the V-WRT. I shall relish sending you off to bivvy on Formby beach JC  . I think I've exhausted pretty much every bivvy spot in my garden short of kipping on the compost heap though. At least that'd be nice and war...

:-bd Looks like a good route that, always fancied hitting Germany for some bike touring. Mebbes next year.... Definitely recommend it, keep an eye out on the website for 2021 dates, will be in June. Just be careful not to get waylaid by all the beer gardens and wine towns, happened to a few Brits l...

Re: My BB200 2020 (may contain spoilers).

One thing I didn't note... the fitness required to ride all the hills on this one isn't that far off competitive athlete level. The difference that makes to being able to get through in any sort of reasonable time is HUGE. Because of just how much steep stuff is in this one, no-one should feel bad ...

Taunus bikepacking/ Taunus Teaser

Dear Boners, Here at last my belated report from my trip to Germany in early September, hopefully an ok read for a grey drizzly covid restricted weekend. I have to start with a confession (sorry Stu  ): My spiritual bikepacking home is, and always will be, in the Taunus mountain range just nor...

Re: My BB200 2020 (may contain spoilers).

You know the old saying "Failing to prepare is preparing to fail"? Yep, that's me. I'd mentally already prepared to fail a few days ago after reading everyone's posts, decided that I'm not up to the whole thing in 36 hours, and didn't fancy getting caught, and most probably bailing in turnip/locked ...

Re: What are you listening to now?

Had to borrow my (20 year old) daughter's car this morning, so I thought I'd listen whatever music she had in there, to immerse myself in what the youf of today are into....: Relax; Sharp dressed man; Highway to the Danger Zone; Come as you are; Enter Sandman; something ACDC. WTF?!?
