Re: My BB200 2020 (may contain spoilers).

You know the old saying "Failing to prepare is preparing to fail"? Yep, that's me. I'd mentally already prepared to fail a few days ago after reading everyone's posts, decided that I'm not up to the whole thing in 36 hours, and didn't fancy getting caught, and most probably bailing in turn...

Re: What are you listening to now?

Had to borrow my (20 year old) daughter's car this morning, so I thought I'd listen whatever music she had in there, to immerse myself in what the youf of today are into....: Relax; Sharp dressed man; Highway to the Danger Zone; Come as you are; Enter Sandman; something ACDC. WTF?!?

idea about sleeping/living on a traffic island Excellent! You've broken cover now of course, so you're stuck with it  . An idea I had was to bivvy in each of Milton Keynes's "blocks". Trouble is there's about sixty of them, so that would use up 5 years of my BaM allocation. Needs a ...

Re: Bonfire weekend bimble?

I like it! I know just the spot...nice slopey filed close to edge of town with a view over hopefully some fireworks in people's houses. Count me in. Speaking of stealth and urban bivvies, I've recently remembered that as a teenager, I used to have this idea about sleeping/living on a traffic island ...

Re: BB200 2020

The millennium bug non event was because people made a vast amount of effort to ensure it was a non-event. This was mostly done well in advance due to the doom and gloom message so by the time it happened the general public wondered what the fuss was all about. Just like now, some people made a min...

Re: BB200 2020

My god that was hard. I threw the towel in just after Talybont reservoir where I met the road again. Was just about warm enough when riding, but would have really struggled if I’d had to stop and bivy or walk any long sections. Given how rough some of the descents had been, I had my doubts about th...

I saw it was 43 per 100,000 this morning, or was it yesterday...on average...with a few hotter spot...
