Re: Rigid Forks
Good info, thanks all I think for the riding I have in mind rigid makes sense Shewie Are you looking at Steel, Aluminium, Carbon or ti? Opinions based on my experience only: Always amazed how light steel is and how well rides. Aluminium just wrong. Carbon not as light as was expecting and ok it work...

Rigid Forks
Noob Question #2  Having trawled the pages for the last few months it’s become apparent there is a love for rigid forks on a lot of bikepacking setups I see, why is that? Is it purely a weight saving thing or are there other benefits? I’m considering a second bike to add to the fatty so curren...

Re: Can we do wood burning stoves again please??
Another plus I found with the Bushbuddy is it’s ability to burn punky and damp wood, the gasification and secondary burn means they’re much less fussy about requiring dry fuel. Re: Can we do wood burning stoves again please??
The Caldera Cones with the inferno inner piece work well, I use a cone and 600ml pot all year round but will add the Inferno if there’s a chance of a woodland camp and free fuel. I’ve used a Bushbuddy for a good number of years too, much more efficient than the CC but bulkier to pack, nests nicely i...

Ah thanks
Yeah I meant the square steely bits that the cleats hook into, they must’ve just been stiff out of the box.

Crank Bros loose
I thought I’d give clips a go so switched over to Crank Bros Double Shots, first time out with them and after three days easy riding in the Cairngorms the spring clips are now loose and rock backward and forward, is this normal? Do I need to tighten something up? They felt really weird at first but ...

I took a punt on a pair of Scott MTB Heater boots in the end, ordered from a German site but I’ve not had any confirmation of order yet.

I don’t have that kind of spare brass anyway but I could be tempted if they reduce them later

You could probably clove hitch a line around a pole at any height too, I’ve done this regularly with trekking poles. I’ve only just switched to Stu’s poles though so not tried it yet. Planning my first outing I realised all my shelters need trekking poles for support, a good excuse to buy more kit :...

Re: Bar bag
I've just looked at the Lioness, I see what it is you're after now, I thought it was the harness itself rather than the extra front bag.
Yeah the Restrap front (Food Pouch) bag uses two magnets to attach to the harness so not very universal
