Re: Yey another sleeping bag thread!
Liteway and Gramxpert are also worth a look if you're interested in trying an Apex quilt .. https://www.gramxpert.eu/ https://liteway.equipment/quilts Liteway are in the Ukraine but I believe they've relocated a few times and are still managing to get orders out. Apart from V&P UK synthetic opti...

Groupsets from Ali Express - worth a punt?
What's the deal with buying labelled bike bits from Ali, are they genuine or made of cheese? Mrs S has a terrible 2x8 Altus gruppo on her Trek that I'd like to replace at some point, I was thinking 1x11 as she never touches the front shifter anyway, on the 1x hire bikes she's used in the past she's ...

FS: Morvelo Overland Shift LS top / Craft baggies
Having a bit of a clearout, first up ... Morvelo Overland Shift Dual long sleeve top Size Medium I was kidding myself with a medium when it popped up on ebay recently, it's a snug fit, too snug for my 48 year old gut anyway. It looks like it hasn't been worn to me from what I can tell, there'sa coup...

Re: Cafe/shop locks for Bikepacking
Take your front axle out, that'll stop anyone riding away on it & also difficult to push away. Costs nothing! Add a small cable lock to secure it to something if needed. This is a good idea. :-bd Can someone start a "What 6mm allen key?" thread pls? Apart from having to find somewhere...

Re: Warm gloves - but not too cumbersome
I'm not in the Raynaud's camp, but definitely have colder hands than others. I've found the Dissent 133 shell gloves along with cheap silk liners and fleece ones work really well, and seem to keep my hands as warm as the Polaris lobsters I've had in the past. One of the key wins for me is carrying ...

Warm gloves - but not too cumbersome
Mrs S suffers with Raynauds quite badly in her hands, she can cope with this when we're out hiking with merino liners and a pair of synthetic insulated mitts but I'm looking at what options there are for biking, with the added windchill factor that comes with biking she's been having a hard time lat...

Re: Handlebar dry bags.... long and thin not low and droopy
I've got a full set of hammock gear in there: Hammock Alpkit Rig7 tarp Underquilt top quilt That's impressive, I've not attempted to try and bikepack with hammock gear just because of the two quilts factor, what temp quilts are they out of interest? I think my 16L Restrap bag might take my 20f HG q...

Same as Boab, I used a cheapo saddle bag for my fatty tube on day rides, if I was bikepacking I'd stash the tube in the bottom of my full frame bag

Re: Inside car protection / bike sock
I made a liner from a roll of black wadding I had laying about, it has a waterproof fabric on one side so keeps the crud off the car interior, I think it might be for horse blankets. I made it to fit once the back seats are laid down, it' over size enough that it will also fold back over and cover e...

Has it ever been stashed away wet for a long time? You can sometimes get delamination on these plastic fabrics if they're not allowed to dry thoroughly

Noob tech question again

FSA Mega Exo BC1.37x24T After a bit of Googling I ended up ordering a Shimano SM-BBR60, it turned up the other day so I set abo...

Re: Sea to Summit Aeros repair
They seem to do this after a while, not sure if it's the membrane breaking down inside, perhaps aided by dribble and beard funk.
I've had the same with genuine S2S and Ali Express knock offs, I just replace with whichever is cheapest now.
