Re: Alternative to Sram Dub bottom bracket?
First, what's dub? Second, is the BB faced and everything aligned and true? Dub is the new crank size that sram have invented it 28.99mm or something like that, I just spoke to my local bike shop and they asked the same thing and said to take in in when I get a new bb and they will face it off for ...

Re: Alternative to Sram Dub bottom bracket?
The Broken Road does have a threaded bb and the dub kit does have a central tube and I have the 30mm threaded hope one on my hardtail so I'm aware it has no tube. I'm going to email Neil at Alpkit and ask if he knows of anything that may be any good, my other option is to buy a new set of 30mm crank...

I have a Sonder broken road which I got last year and the first bottom bracket lasted 962 miles before the drive side seized solid, Alpkit replaced it under warranty but now this one is started rumbling and its not done anywhere near the miles the last one did. My friend has a new Santa Cruz and his...

Re: Changing pads whilst out
I keep an eye on the pads and change a couple of weeks before a big ride as Sean said just to be sure and take a spare part worn set and if I do have to change them while out I take the caliper of the frame/fork which make changing the pads easier and you them dont have to take your muddy wet wheel ...

I'm a furniture maker so difficult to work from home but my workshop is a 7 minute walk and I don't have to touch anything on the way, I work alone apart from my 73 year old Dad who I have banned from the workshop and wont let him come closer than 2 meters to me. I lock the gate and its just me. I h...

Re: bit of a strange 24 hours
I went out today for 4 hours, just a little bit of road, took enough water and food so didnt need to get anything and my little stove, stopped and made coffee halfway. Been roofing the shed/man cave extension this afternoon and I even managed to get a loaf from the local coop as well, first one we h...

FS Sram 38t X Sync chainring
Bought a set of xx1 carbon cranks and this was on but it's a bit big for me.
its 76mmpcd , aluminium and it's very good at making the back wheel go round.
it's not had a chain on it but there is a bit of lock tight in the threads for full disclosure.

I am a wood worker and use pu glue a lot, its totally waterproof so steam wont do it , cellulose thinners might soften it a little but it's very strong stuff, good luck.

Hello Ian
Its about 5mm thick and yes I have done at least 4000 miles with it in some very challenging conditions. I think it is safe to say its strong.

Re: Front Roll Bag Holder Thing.
I guess I could, I didn't put them on to sell just to show my solution. I would need to know how far from the centre of your steerer tube to the first bend, this depends on your stem length, also I would have to wait until I see my mate next to get the plastic so as long as your not in to much of a ...

Re: Front Roll Bag Holder Thing.
I think it would , as you could tune it with the right bend by letting all the air out the forks so you can compress them to full travel to see if it touches the tyre. You can take the forks apart to do a lower leg service and take out the plunger thing in the air side as air get past it sometimes t...

Front Roll Bag Holder Thing.
I made this about 18 months ago as my roll bag was squashing my hoses a bit too much for my liking. My friend makes water tanks out of this stuff and gave me a few off cuts, I just cut it on the bandsaw then drilled the necessary holes, to bend it you use a heat gun from both sides until it becomes ...

Re: Dual bottle cage mounts
I had one of the wolf tooth ones when I did the Dale's divide last year as it was a scorcher of a weekend but unfortunately as you drink one bottle the other then puts a load of force on the bolts in not a good way so over the weekend it ripped the mounts out of my steel frame , the inserts where br...
