New lowers if you need them quick or used If your not in a rush. You may find someone who has wrecked their stanchions so you'll get them cheap.

Re: #jennride 2022 28/29th of May

Possibly a bit early to ask, but is there a date in mind for next year? We had a very good time this year Rich recently posted this on fb... #jennride 2023 will be happening on the weekend of the 27th of May 100 glorious miles of trails including High St !!!! Save the date entries open on the 1st o...

Re: New hardtail MTB

Thanks a lot for all the answers, lots to think about. I will look up the lauf forks and the procaliber, although I have always avoided carbon. Issues around PF30 bottom brackets and the ease of changing threaded ones. Maybe that is not an issue anymore. I will also give Shand a call. I had a look ...

Re: Scottish events like WRT and Jennride

Hee hee. I was just thinking about this thread again yesterday, pondering where a good "hub" would be. Ideally, somewhere with a decent train link and on a line that has the new carriages. That puts it in the West at the moment where there are fewer route options (geology is a bastard). I...

Scottish events like WRT and Jennride

I got thinking while dawdling round the lakes at the weekend.

Wales has WRT

England has Jennride

Has Scotland got a similarly relaxed event I've not noticed?

If not does anyone fancy putting one on :-bd

Re: #jennride 2022 28/29th of May

We'll that was class.... Going off the route before hand I wondered if there was too much road but I didn't really notice it as the off road sections were fantastic. I guess you appreciate the time to relax before the next off road section. I'll have to remember this with my own route planning. I ge...

I'd say it's a big loss to those of us who were keen. I've a bit of event organising experience and it wasn't easy so totally understand.

Fingers crossed your injury clears up and you get riding again soon

Re: WRT route sharing for a non local?

I find Strava Flybys not so helpful anymore. A privacy update a while back means that you have to opt in to Flyby and that’s not well publicised. As a result a lot fewer folk are available to view than in the past. Yeah. Quick look at it the other night seemed to come to a bit of a dead end due to ...

The routes I was planning: Saturday Sunday Monday I also worked up an alternate route for Sunday/Monday , which is closer to what I actually rode. There are massive chunks of both Sunday and Monday's routes that I didn't ride, so I have no idea what they're actually like... Your a star. Thank you. ...

WRT route sharing for a non local?

I was a first timer at this year's WRT and ended up buying a route from Stuart. I kept riding past stuff thinking it looked good but kept to the route as I've never ridden in Wales before so didn't want to risk ending up in a bog! I'm definitely going to come back down this year for another look abo...

I'll be back down this year at some point to get to know the area a bit better. Had no clue where I was or where I was going most of the time!
