Re: Bivvy a Month 2024

 Giving me flashbacks these posts...I recently had avocado on sourbread very near JimmyG's ride, and have kipped on the beach at Tentsmuir near fatbikephil's splendid adventure. The small world of bikepacking :-bd

Re: Bivvy a Month 2024

A 3-day weekend on Edinburgh's Capital Trail with the Polishermanses a couple of weeks ago. All four seasons of weather, but dry from the sky for camping. The Three Brethren Cains on the Southern Upland Way. Flippin freezin. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/53681344155_741239f32e.jpg 102_0114 by ...

Re: Bivvy a Month 2024

Bivvy in a quarry somewhere above Hebden Bridge. 113km Pennine ride from home with Mr and Mrs Polisherman. Back to the trusty 'Coffin' tarp to keep the rain off my head. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/53593144251_c475b2cb0a.jpg 102_0050 The Polishermanses climbing out of a steep valley after th...

Re: Bivvy a Month 2024

February BAM, 2/12 Invisibivvy Super micro-distance 10 mins down to the woods near the canal here in Saddleworth. It was too warm not to grab the opportunity. Had the tarp for years but not used much as too bulky. But when your ride is 1.5km  https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/53508116660_2c9...

Re: Bivvy a Month 2024

Late entry...inspired by my FOMO of neighbour and local legend Mrs Polisherman. Day at work Saturday, then 10k ride to a local elevated quarry containing the "Snow" Stanza Stone by Simon Armitage (Pule Hill, Marsden, West Yorkshire). No rain but I shivered like a whippet. Need more than 6 ...

Re: Nutritional Sups/Meals During a Long Distance Event

Tesco Vegan sausage sandwiches in Warbies pre-slices burger buns. Proper (for a vegan) food that is easy to eat on the bike and slides down nicely. Also Biscoff spread (or the Aldi equivalent) in the same buns. Loves to be squashed in a bike pack. I had 6 of each that fueled me round this year's BB3...

Re: BB200/300 2022 edition (no spoilers)

After I saw you I didn't see anyone until Peter, the guy who really was last back, passed me as I was setting up my bivy. I caught him up again in Llanidloes and again in Hafren. Probably as close to a true ITT as you could have on a group start. Nice to meet you Bob. I'm also the slowest to reply ...
