Re: Kinesis tripster v3 ti or an alternative?

I run a Ribble CGR TI with 45mm Raddler on 28mmID XC rims so they come up large.

No mud clearance issues yet, and believe me, ive been though lots of mud.

Even if it does clog its not gonna strip the paint on a ti bike or worse eat the carbon :)

Ah.... I got home at 345am today. 72km in 6.5hrs was on for <24hr but then crashed and snapped my bars off. 85km road ride back to car with no RHS brake, no gears & LHS bar only to hold on to. More adventure than I bargained for!!

There's a thread just for this!!!

I had to read that twice to make sure I wasn't seeing things, chapeau Liam, that's an unbelievable time. It just goes to prove that singlespeed is faster than gears.... but I'm still taking gears for my ride
Wow.... Just wow!

Yeah turns out the squeeling was my disc eating the pistons!

I think the hope RX4 caliper offers a bit more clearance too which will help clear the grinding paste out of the pads better? Plus the ultimate bonus is they come in purple!

Re: What gear did you break on the BB200/300

 how did u manage to break so much on one ride?? I think the clue is in the last item, bar tape (and the GRX shifter). Looks like an mtb is the tool du jour for this years event from the reports so far.... It could have happened on a Mtb too...freak accident, and got unlucky. The bik...

Re: My BB200 2020 (may contain spoilers).

Honestly, i was loving it! The gravel bike i have got is set up with 28mm ID carbon wheels with cushcores, running 30PSI on WTB Resolutes. The set up was banging...it just ripped though everything, even the thick mud. Those skinny 42mm tyres are amazing! I did get off on a couple of the really rocky...

Re: My BB200 2020 (may contain spoilers).

Bollocks bollocks bollocks! Set off from the Fforest Inn at 6 this morning. Was making great progress for 120km at 15km/h average. It was tough but very enjoyable. On the descent just before the Gap i got a log caught in my rear wheel and it bent the mech. But it was just too bad. I had to bail and...

I don't want to put the kibosh on it but the forecast for this coming weekend looks quite good (light rain, sunny intervals, & gentle breeze) plus the water levels in streams drop off quite quickly in the area  Well that was the kiss of death.....rain showers all day on sat with moderate bree...

Re: BB200 2020

I have some unexpected time off from work over the next few days, not back until next Tuesday. Is there an Old Skool version of being able to do this with gri...

Re: BB200 2020

Is anyone mad enough to try this years BB200 on a gravel bike? Re: Winter gravel

I have been using the WTB Raddlers in a 44mm, on a mix of terrain from flat toe path to the roughtest trail the Peak District has. Only had one puncture since Jan to a side wall but was plgged with a stans dart easy enough. I also run Cush Cores which have been fantastic at protecting my carbon rims...

Re: BB200 2020

There are some pretty chunky rock sections in places. Depends how much of a battering gravel bike wheels can take. Thanks - should be ok, im running cush cores. No issue with descending Jacobs Ladder and stuff like that, think im gonna risk it for a biscuit. Boggy sections are the hardest after a r...
