Re: That Tent Question

Very happy with my Durston x-mid 1. Never had condensation issues. Twin pole set up is nicer than a single central pole - better angles at the edges so your head/feet don't touch the ends. Easier to get in and out of too. Very well made tent too, lots of nice touches and seemingly good QC. The z-fli...

Re: Ultralightweight 2season sleeping bag?

I've been using it down to 8c overnight (with 10c quilt) and it's been fine. Only started using it this summer so haven't tried colder

Re: Ultralightweight 2season sleeping bag?

Sea to Summit kit is good, I have a 10c down quilt of theirs and found the temp rating to be accurate. Biggest revelation for me was going from an exped synmat to a Vango aotrom(sp?) 3/4 one when it's warmer. I get just as good a nights sleep but the pack size is so much smaller. Have just spent a m...

Hi, the current seat post is 34.9mm, so anything smaller than that really as I can shim it to fit

WTD: Dropper with Underseat Lever

Looking for a cheap dropper post to go on a shopping bike I share with my girlfriend.
Would need to be an older style one with the lever under the seat.

Re: What you done t' your bike today

I have taken the rigid fork and front rack off of my ti hardtail and put on a second hand 100mm SID Select SL I bought off of FB Marketplace. The main issue with this is that it didn't come with an axle and the cheap one I bought off of Amazon didn't really fit, so I need to get hold of something be...

Re: Anyone Know Anything About An Old RockShox Suspension Seatpost?

In the end it was quite easy to take apart/tune. There is a preload screw in the base that you can adjust pretty easily. However, cranking it up all the way was still too saggy for me. Taking it apart I found one long elastomer and a spacer (like the fork tokens you get now). Reading the charts in t...

Well, after some research I found some info online. People are selling the original owners manuals on eBay USA so I pinched their pics: https://i.postimg.cc/yxdFNVJM/Rockshox.webp https://i.postimg.cc/k45VQTn8/Rockshox2.webp The last one needs translated from Italian: https://i.postimg.cc/6QWTKM4S/R...

Anyone Know Anything About An Old RockShox Suspension Seatpost?

I have an old (2000s-era) Rockshox suspension seatpost on my drop bar bike. Was something I picked up locally for a tenner. Anyway, I'm fettling all things bike just now and was looking to see if it has adjustment at all as it just seems to drop to almost full travel when i sit on it. The guy gave m...

Re: What you done t' your bike today

I finally got the seized pad retaining pin out of my Ultegra hydraulic brake calipers as I needed to change the pads. Which is quite impressive as they were in it when new and must have 10,000 miles on them. This involved using an oscillating multitool to cut through the centre of the pin and one si...

Re: What you done t' your bike today

Sorting out my drop bar bike. Got the tyres holding tubeless air again, cleaned off all the spiderwebs, took the cranks in to be inspected for the Shimano recall (they pass, woohoo) and put the normal stem on in lieu of the suspension one I didn't gel with. Last job is to bleed the brakes which I'll...

I assume it’s 31.8 bar clamp ? Yes, that's correct. I had it on my drop bar bike, it just fits "normal" bars. There is info on it in this eBay listing: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/266480985745?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=o1IPshWtSkS&sssrc=4429486&ssui...

Well, the demo thing doesn't work.

I just paid the £13 for the one-off Pro version (not the XE subscription model).

So far, so good. Have got it on my phone, changed maps (UK and worldwide), found where I am and imported GPXs.
All I needed :)
