I rode up that way from Dunkeld at the weekend. There was a huge herd of coos all on the track after the first gate just past Loch Ordie. I use a Hozelock garden sprayer with the lance removed and it works pretty well. Pump it up with the hose kinked and then let it go once the thing is at pressure.

I cycled toured the western side in June 2015 and it was very hot (only time I've ever seem my Garmin hit 50 deg C). I also went a self organised MTB holiday years ago and stayed in Plakias.
