Re: Hope Evo Pro 2 Freehub Question.

The 11s freehub will fit, but apparently cassettes might not, the 40t hub body is narrower to clear them.

Ive got a set and considered upgrading to micro spline but TBH by the time ive added that, 12mm addapters and boost addapters its not far off the cost of a new hub.

Sorry, just realized I never replied to your message, yep it sold.

I've got a NOS Fatty Trail with a carbon fork that I'm in two minds about selling. On the one hand I already miss the Mk1 and the frame is over a lb lighter. On the other, I have way too many bikes!

Dunno where you lot hang out but arround here poles are growing out of the ground. There's so many I dont bother with carrying poles. We call them trees

Re: Is There Such a Thing as a Decent, Lightweight Combination Lock?

Im tempted to MYOG a lock. after losing my little alarmed one somewhere North of Peebles.

Something like 2.5mm stainless wire (dinghy rigging) threaded/spliced into some dyenema. Should resist anything shy of bolt cutters and not weigh all that much, just add a small padlock.

Walter Mitty, a character in a story that daydreams of sucess they never had.

Now used as derogatory slang for people who wear army surplus at the weekend or turn up at remmbrance services with medals they bought on ebay and were never actually in the army.

Re: Ah, On One / Planet X again

I like OnOne, but why do they still ship frames in tiny boxes? It cant be a small percentage that get mashed in transit?

Or is the cost to them of a few exra frames in an order offset against much cheaper shipping because the box is nominally smaller?

I reckon you'll regret selling her, mate. I've got a Fatty Trail Frame and some Chinese forks ready to go, this one has to go because there physically isn't room in the bike rack to squeeze a second set of fat tyres in 🤣 and I need to move the new frameset out of the car garage! Hi Do you have a se...

Re: On-One Fatty £360, large

It's a large, but the standover is equivelent to about a 15" frame as they were all the same just the reach, headtube and seatube changed. I reckon you could stick a really stubby 35mm stem on there and probably have some growing room. I think off the top of my head the reach is 450mm? Only thing yo...

Dug it back out of the shed to take some pics of the various scuffs and rubs. There is the shallowest of dinks in the top tube somewhere but I couldn't find it. Open to sensible offers as I need to clear some space so I can work on the car. N.B. the white wheels are staying for my gravel bike unless...

Re: Smart Sam Tyres

It probably depends on the tyre width, a mtb tyre will work differently to a cross one. I did say they werent as good as the Terrano wet, but they are 1/3 of the price, which is worth a consideration if you do a lot of miles. And the tread is arranged in a cross pattern with a center ridge on knobbl...

Re: Genesis Vagabond - any good?

Mine was a large and im 6ft, actually felt much bigger than most drop bar' d bikes, which might have contributed to it feeling slow. Did have a 110mm stem on it though whereas I think most have 90/100? Unless you disslike the low flat bar position on the inbred i think it will end up quite similar. ...

I agree with the NorwayCalling about it not being light or responsive. Although I didn't get on with it. I’ve just bought an adhesive Garmin mount and a spare case for my phone. Thats just what i did with a £2.99 case and a £4.50 garmin adhesive mount which came wit...

Ive got the fake chinese version of the spurcycle bell, its nowhere near as nice as the real thing. I do like the fact its silent when just riding allong though, not rattling about making a racket. Worth £50, debatable. Its nicely made, it wont rust, it sounds nice. So its certainly better than anyt...

I could probably dig it out but broadly a fairly efficient car is about 200g of co2 per km (not the 100 it says on the advert for a prius driven on a rolling road). So london to glentress as an example is 160kg of CO2. For manufacturing there are rules of thumb like 5kg per kg of steel (for bulk stu...

Worth bearing in mind that the environmental impact of a bag made in china from petrochemicals, waste products washed into the watercourse and the bag shipped most of the way arround the world. All Goretex waterproof fabrics are of a laminate construction.
I presume he meant the distinction between the 2/2.5/3 layer membrane waterproof fabrics which have a breathable PTFE membrane on a woven outet (and maybe/not an inner layer).

And the DWR treated fabrics?

500g seems reasnoble if it means you can omit having a bag holder and just strap it on? Two things spring to mind: Google gives you different search results depending on who you are, i just get a lot of "toe straps" to deal with corns, bunnions and broken toes.
