Guilty as charged. Thank you. BTW, I think drj0n wants to use a quote you sent me in his marketing material. "it's easy as pish!"
Not a problem. If he can use my username GirlBikeVan. It's more than just a username:)

Re: Harness V Cradle help

Well i've received the Strapdeck and G-Funk bar clamps, attached to my bike with fully stuffed front roll and it's assembled perfectly. Far less faff than the Alpkit harness I have. Just waiting for the Voile straps now. all at a cost of £69 instead of £125 for the Salsa Anything cradle. Thanks Ste...

I've not managed to work out how to do a bundle in an easy way using our store so I've added a temporary discount code 'FUNKBUNDLE' that'll give you 15% off any purchase with at least 3 items in your basket. Hi Steve, i've placed an order but the voile straps are out of stock so couldn't order thos...

I stuck my tarp in the garden last weekend. Wasn't as great as expected. I was bathed in the light of the street lamp on the footpath at the back of the house and I woke up freezing!! :???:

Re: Harness V Cradle help

The pack looks too low to me. And not as far away from the bars as the clamps on the Salsa allow which is the feature I like. Perhaps because of inexperience i'm splitting hairs A bit? Maybe, note that the whole thing can be rotated as much as you want so it would be perfectly possible to have it s...

Re: Harness V Cradle help

I'll have a look at that, thanks I can post it to you if you want to borrow the roo puch and see what I mean - i have the bigger one that actually holds stuff though I dont really put much in it - I seem to recall its pricey though so might be not much saving on a harness If you can sew it should b...

Re: Harness V Cradle help

do you have the roo pack for the alpkit? once installed on the bike - 5 mins or less at home, then out on the trail you just release the strap on that to slide the bag out [ even with a 20 litre dry bag] and just slide it back in when finished and retighten. Its not much different to straping up my...

Re: Harness V Cradle help

One thing I notice about the Blackburn harness is that it places the roll out Infront of the bars. This is the worst place from a handling perspective and will also cast maximum shadow from your front light. The good thing about most harnesses is the pull the load in towards the head tube reducing ...

Harness V Cradle help

I've been looking to ugrade my bikepacking gear. Have the Alpkit harness at the minute and it's been great but also a right faff with straps! Done loads of research on The salsa Anything cradle and the Blackburn outpost harness and can't decide. Has anyone tried both? The Salsa Anything reviews talk...

Re: Great North Trail

It really depends on when you are doing it and what accommodation you fancy. In some places you'll have little choice of the B&Bs/hostels etc and may need to book in advance. That commits you to a schedule. Bikepacking and carry all your kit gives you some flexibility. Lots of folk do LEJOG ad ...

Re: Great North Trail

I fancy having a go at this next year. What planning do you do? I mean, I understand planning around places to sleep, get food and charge technology. My thinking was you can't really plan more than 3 days ahead on a trip like this. I was thinking i'd take a leisurely 3 weeks :)

Hey all, The trip didn't go to plan! However it evolved into something I could manage to complete. 3 days, one horrendous bivi in the rain and one night at a friend's All in all 245k. The hardest thing I've ever done. Not sure how to post links on here but if you search gbv245 on YouTube I put a vid...
