RS component's stock lots of structural systems including their own RS Pro stuff. I've used it and it was plenty good enough for my needs.

Re: Byways/Road friendly bridleways of West Yorkshire and surrounding?
There are enough roads around here unsuitable for road tyres, never mind the bridleways

Re: Could a beard puncture a inflateable pillow.
I've been using a trekology pillow for a few years without issue. I also don't have much of a beard. It doesn't answer your question but does provide another data point.

You could do worse than camping in Crossleys Plantation above Holme, although it will involve lifting the bikes over a wall. If you carry on a bit further though, the Fleece serves good food and good beer
It's a belting route, enjoy yourselves

Fair play for getting the wheel sorted and cracking on (so to speak) Not a great advert for Hunt wheels.... Good luck for the rest! A reasonable sized group had formed in the Wynstay ahead of last years BB200/300. Every person present had owned Hunt wheels with cracked rims around the spoke holes. ...

Re: Yorkshire Divide - Source to Sea Trail write up
I really enjoyed it thanks mate. I rode the first 100 miles, got a pub meal at around 7pm at the Thwaite Arms, then shortcut across to Askrigg, missing Hawes and arriving at the Dent Houses shelter by nightfall. Took a solid nights sleep after chilling in front of the fire for a while with a cider a...

I took enough shortcuts to turn my ride into a great 3 day, 341 mile tour - Enjoyed it and don't regret the shortcuts one bit  However, Hyppy of this parish is taking things a bit more seriously. He's at the end of day 4, not far from the finish (although the next bit will be tough) and curren...

I cancelled my entry for this to take a bit of time off the bike and help a long term injury recover. Not cycling didn't seem to help and just meant I added a few Kg's and lost even more fitness. Anyway... fat, injured and slow, I've decided to have a go regardless It's still barely stopped raining ...

On the Audax 600's do people tend to sleep or ride through as 200 is the max I've rode in a oner, doubt I'd get anywhere near 3,4 or 600 tbh in one go  could be out there all week I rode straight through the Bryan Chapman 600 last year. A few weeks later I rode the Pendle 600 with sleep at aro...

Mostly grey and windy in the Pennines but my MTB commute was happily extended to 50 lumpy miles. Shorts and tee throughout, although it's raining again now ![Rolling Eyes ](./images/smilies/icon_rolleyes.gif)

I loved my old Simpson. For reasons I can't recall, I was wearing a different one and had the Simpson in a helmet bag over my shoulder when riding home one night. The string snapped at speed and the lid bounced down the road ![Sad ](./images/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif)

Re: Bivvy a Month 2024
Original plan was Dales Divide (for the fourth time). However, I really didn't fancy all the mud! I had a backup plan though. Home-2-coast-2-coast 2 home. Almost completely on minor roads, cycleways and NCN routes, whilst crisscrossing the Dales Divide route in places so I could marvel at the mud an...

Re: Supertramp 2024: A Challenge
Sounds ace but I doubt I'll get 6 nights out in a row without taking early retirement. A Super Randonneur seems easy compared to Supertramp, with a 600km fitting comfortably inside 2 days.

Delightful Dales 200km Audax today. Hilly, intermittently wet and with an unhelpful headwind for much of the ride. Good to get out though, and it's a belting route if you like a pissing about on roadbikes. Warm enough to just let the castelli perfetto do it's thing and not bother with a proper water...

Nothing wild but the sun was shining and the wind wasn't howling!! Shorts and tee shirt for the first time since before the 14-year winter took hold. Interesting bar from Cannondale Interesting because the crossbar stiffens it makes it less comfy while also being too thin for mounting things to? : ) I suppose it'd be useful for stabilising a bar bag strap. And £15 is a good price. I've got a similarly interesting Stooge Junker bar. It's in a box...

Re: North York Moors 300
It looks like a fantastic route and event. I've only ridden in the area once, is the 300km route something people aim to do in one go? (Like BB200) or it requires a good 2 days? On paper it looks ideal for a gravel bike. Last years NYM300 was easier going than the BB rides and much easier than YD30...
