Re: The post man's been ...

Dropped off a rather fetching Outdry in the bright white colourway. It might look pretty grubby very quickly but for £50ish quid delivered, one mustn't grumble. I suspect there will be plenty opportunity to test it in the coming weeks  In the market for one, do you have the link to where you...

Re: The post man's been ...

Busy day for my postie yesterday. A box from SJS cycles with several boring, but essential bits to finish my Stooge. Rode it to work this morning (International Single Speed Day innit) and despite being mostly in the wrong gear, it was a nice start to the day. Also a package with some rather nice ba...

Good effort Greg. The official OMM footage certainly showed what appeared to be a tough conditions.

Re: Calder divide challenge

I did the long route this year and really enjoyed it. Lots of it would be fine on a gravel bike, but some bits wouldn't be much fun at all. It sounds like Adrian has taken the rougher bits out of the gravel ride so I'm sure it'll be great. Get it entered and have a ball :-bd

I had similar issues with a new grx mech. I adjusted the clutch to reduce the tension a bit and it's fine now.

Fortunately theres a well equipped machine shop at work.

I wasn't quite ready to start another week doing work for others, so first job Monday was a selfish one. Might make a habit of it

Re: What you done t' your bike today

Recently swapped everything from my cracked Spa Cycles Elan frame onto a Genesis CdF frame. Almost everything was the correct 'standard' so it was a simple and cheap job. The CdF frame required a different mudguard mount on the rear though, and the bracket rattled, so I machined a new one and bolted...

Re: Anyone doing the OMM next weekend?

Not this time. My entry rolled over for 2 years but I just don't feel the love for fell running at the moment. Hopefully it'll return in time but for now, I accepted OMM vouchers as a refund. Just need to spend them :-bd

Hope you all have a great weekend!!!

I've got a hip flask like that. I hope it had something good in it.. Indeed! Glenmorange 10, the dregs of last year's Christmas present. Fortunately it's almost that time if year again :-bd Whisky in titanium hip flasks seems to have an acceptable strength/weight ratio to satisfy TLS criteria

Re: Bivvy a month 2022

I had all the excuses in the world for not following through with last night's planned bivvy. Mostly though, the torrential rain all day which showed little sign of easing, despite the forecast. I eventually set off in the dark at about 6:30pm in full waterproofs and OMW boots, hoping to keep the wo...

Thanks Stu/Dee. Mostly very enjoyable and the not-so-enjoyable bits were my own fault. Coming out of a very warm and dry summer I'd almost forgotten what it's like to be that cold during the night. Great route and a warm welcome back :-bd I'd dropped a couple of quid in the honesty box at the Glyndŵ...

Any indication of distance from the start where this pearl may be found? It'd be a real shame to pass by unaware To the SE at 143km. it's slightly off route but not by much. It took me far too long to realise that this was 143km into the 200 route and not the 300  found it though, cheers! Hope...
