MW7 isn’t a leather boot. Totally synthetic, are you thinking of XM9 which is a leather hiking boot style.
My bad, was thinking of the MW80 boot from a while back, but still aim for a size up for a good sock combo

Re: 3-4 season sleeping bag

I've got an Alpkit Pipedream 400 on test. First sleep out tonight, although it isn't looking that cold so I won't be pushing the boundaries. Initial thoughts on the construction are good. I have a Thermarest Questar HD 3 season to compare against. Pipedream 400 landed the other day yet to use it wi...

Re: shimano mw7 size wise

Personally I'd go a size up to allow for a good sock combo for winter & something else to take into consideration is the MW7 is a leather kinda shoe/boot and when wet become a heavy boot and the velcro straps can become non sticky as they get muddy and wet, I had a pair a while back they work okay f...

Re: Nighttime riding, fear and loathing.

I actually don't mind riding in the dark whether it be a solo ride or in a group, which we try to plan on weekly basis also the perfect opportunity for pint or 3 on the way home  Many years ago I do remember night riding round Llandegla on a solo and to be fair I never stopped pedalling the wh...

Re: Recommend me a front light

Only ever used Exposure lights so can't really comment on any others, yes they can be a little pricey but never had any trouble with mine and to my knowledge none of my mates have had trouble with theirs either.
Bar mounted Maxx-d & Joystick on the lid work well together.

Another sleeping bag query ........ sorry

:| https://alpkit.com/collections/sleeping-bags/products/pipedream-400 Anybody used the pipedream -400 from alpkit, looking for a new 3 season bag for the colder months. Obviously the reviews look good but can sometimes be very different in reality also would you recommend any alternatives to this f...

Re: BB200 2020

I don't want to put the kibosh on it but the forecast for this coming weekend looks quite good (light rain, sunny intervals, & gentle breeze) plus the water levels in streams drop off quite quickly in the area  Exactly what I was thinking, next week towards the weekend looks a good weather sl...

Re: BB200 2020

There's a car park opposite The Fforset Inn closer to the loop which doesn't say Pub Parking only on Google street view. Might be worth a drive past on the way to the laybys

That's the one I was thinking about, looks a good landing spot providing it can be used. :-bd

You can do something similar with a set of old bar ends Dave ... no one will ever know once they're wrapped. :-bd
I was gonna say there's gotta be a cheaper alternative than 95$ surley, two sticks maybe, but good sticks

Re: BB200 2020

Do we think the laybys on either side of the road at route distance 185.8km? They should be safe enough to leave our not very posh cars parked up at, shouldn't they? I was looking at those laybys too. - They look OK on Google Streetview. What about New Radnor, small village just up the road from th...

Re: Lights - is this available?

That's pretty well how I use my Exposure Joystick. I'll pick the program with the longest run-times (either 2 or 3 from memory gives 36hrs on the lowest setting). I did the whole of the HT550 over five days on about half a charge, didn't do a lot of night riding apart from the last night when I rod...
