Re: Merino padded shorts

These I think. https://7mesh.com/products/mens-mk3-half-short I would definitely probably size up but maybe the ones I have are just right. Just feel that if I had gone up there would be less stretch and tugging at em to get em on! Thanks Shaf. I'd forgotten about these. Bought a couple of pairs on...

Merino padded shorts

I bought a few pairs of the Vulpine Mens Merino Padded Boxers from Sport pursuit last year which lasted a predictably short length of time before getting holes worn in them (approx 3000 miles each pair) Anyone know of any more robust substitutes. I'm tired of damp smelly lycra and going without a ch...

Re: What you done t' your bike today

Very good life out of that there neglected chain Woodsmith. What lube are you using. I'll assume an oil based that you regularly just top up and wipe down! Smoove wax lube in a bottle. Unfortunatly I think it might have gone out of production? It was over three long mostly dry extended trips of aro...

Re: What you done t' your bike today

Gave it a wash after 5000 km round Spain and France. Greased the front hub, binned the chain at 0.75% after 15,000 km :-bd , oil change on the Rohloff , new larger 203mm front disc (up from 180) and fresh pads. All ready for another 5000 km of neglect.

Re: Tubeless pump?

Have same punp.amd agree with all of that. Unscrewing your valves is a lezyne pump design issue l. only.take it with my + tyres for the volume and would not expect it to re bead any tyre. You can get a push on presta chuck ( works well)...but if you do it needs to be stored separately from the pump...

Taking bikes to the USA and problems with the TSA

I've been thinking for a while about taking the bike to the US but I've read sop many tales of the TSA opening boxes and things getting damaged/going missing its really putting me off.
Any possitive or negative experiences? Is it only on exit or on entry, or both ?

Re: Stove fuel for Spain

Don't take any type of stove that isn't immediately extinguishable by turning off. In fact if you get caught with any naked flame away from designated areas recreativa, you will be heavily fined. The countryside is like a tinder box, especially in the south but also here in Cataluña. If you must, s...

Stove fuel for Spain

I'm planning on spending a couple of months in Spain (Altravesur, Spanish Divide, etc) and am undecided on which stove to take. I hate going miles off route hunting for gas canisters and wondered how widely available the screw on type are. What about meths? What's it called in Spanish? Is it purple?...

Extraordinarily unlikely to be asked for proof, but surely a credit card with a large enough limit to cover this person day is good enough anyway? I vaguely recall being asked for similar going into the USA years ago, and showing a bank statement and credit card was enough. The guidance adds that t...

Re: Bikepacking race tips from a pro...

In 2019 hiking 3000 miles from Mexico to canada up the length of the great Divide I ate well over 900 Cliff Bars, most of them the chocolate mint or white chocolate macademia variety. I think the record was 10 in one day. The combination of that plus the 200g of oatmeal and chocate and vanilla flavo...

Gave the ECR a half decent wash, changed the oil in the Rohloff in preparation for it being laid up for the next 4 months while I'm in Londinium on a course. ( Takes up too much space in my brother's hallway.)
