Re: so, this Columbia outdry stuff.....

Thanks all. It's the lack of breathability that stops me wearing jackets, so if the outdry is, at best, equivalent to the shakedry in this regard, I'll probably swerve it.

Re: so, this Columbia outdry stuff.....

Interested to hear how it compares with gore shakedry, if anyone had experience of both? I've got the latter and was very excited to try it out on the cold/wet day at last year's tnr, but as with every other jacket I've ever owned, I ended up soaked, presumably in sweat, rather than from rain ingres...

Re: Losing weight off the Rooster

I've got a rooster and have stuck a 3.0 ranger on the front and a 2.6 on the back. Wheels are halo 45mm jobs and it's 1x11 sram. I'm quite a lump and the gearing is manageable here on the south downs. Brakes, pedals and chainset are cheap and cheerful shimano, gobi saddle, Thompson post, on one stem...

Re: FS: Shimano me4 spd shoes size 46

How do they size up relative to normal shoes? I've only really used specialized shoes and a 46 fits me fine at size 11, but I seem to remember hearing shimano come up small?

Re: Remind me how to make the thinking mans crown race setting tool

A length of plastic waste pipe of the appropriate diameter has always worked for me. Never had to fit a 1.5" crown race, but same principle should apply?

Re: FOC stuff

Yes please to the bag if still available - looks spot on for my little one and, if not, he'll just have to grow a bit. How much do you want and where shall I send it? Thank you

Bivvy spot near Winchester?

I'm hoping to do the sdw later in the summer if all this poor show calms down and was hoping to bivvy beforehand near the start in winchester. Does anyone know of anywhere suitable?

Wanted - 6 bolt 180mm rotor

After a cheapish 180mm 6 bolt rotor for my gravel bike. Doesn't need to be anything fancy and it'll be used with a trp spyre mechanical caliper, if that makes any difference. Thanks in advance!

Re: WANTED* (shhh, say it quietly) Pannier racks.

Happy to send photos if you can ping me an email to glandfield at Hotmail dot com. The welds look pretty basic to me, but i think it came with blackburns lifetime warranty, so they must have some faith in it. I used to ride a lot with only one pannier, pretty well loaded, and broke lots of frames an...

Re: WANTED* (shhh, say it quietly) Pannier racks.

Got at least one old 90s blackburn rack you're welcome to for whatever it costs to post. Decent condition as unused since about 1998... Black anodised and fairly limited adjustability, from what I remember.
