Re: Gravel riders - Sore palms advice sought

I've often suffered with sore palms after long off road rides on the gravel bike. Current combo seems to have resolved it through - flared bars (not too sxtreme - cow chippers I think ), redshift stem, high bars (one of jameso's prototype frames with v long head tube) and liberal application of Lana...

That is mental! The winner of the national 24hr tt normally does something like 840k, and they've done 730 in less than 21hrs!

Free train travel in Spain on journeys up to 300k until the end of the year

https://www.theguardian.com/money/2022/jul/15/spain-announces-free-rail-journeys-from-september-until-the-end-of-the-year?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=facebook Not sure how practical this would be for bikepacking, but could make accessing the offf the beaten track bits more affordable. Great in...

I've had that problem and traced it to a bent hanger before. Having splashed out for the tool, it's a piece of piss to check every time you service a bike

Another +1 for the salsa here. Happy to pay a weight penalty for rock solid stability and never found the handling to be an issue

Re: For Sale: Park Tool spoke key 0

Great, thank you. My email is glandfield at hotmail dot com if that's easier? Let me know how much you want (fairly certain it'll need posting if that's ok with you) and I'll paypal gift it across.

Cheers!

Re: Igaro D2 or Sinewave revolution

Hopefully I've used the right term there! It's basically a lead with two bare wires that you attach to the dynamo, then there's a connector so that you can split the lead to remove either the wheel or the charging unit without disconnecting from the dynamo. And despite some mixed reviews on the net,...

Re: Igaro D2 or Sinewave revolution

I've had an original igaro (d1?) and two igaro d2s, all admittedly bought second hand and all of which stopped working after relatively little use. I also had a c2c (bought new) that met the same fate after only a couple of trips, but quite a long spell in the parts bin. I had a lot of use out of a ...

New and unused Genetic Digest bars in 44vm

Surplus to requirements. Brand new with tags still attached. The slightly narrower version of these flared gravel drops.

£30 posted or a bit less collected from the Brighton area.

Yes. It's a lot, lot easier than it used to be! The top section has been filled in with concrete, it used to be a rutted muddy mess but still at 25%
Happy to say I pushed my bike for the lot!

Re: Assistance with route please!

That'll be the 'opinion dividing' Warnscale trail  It was the first ride I did on my first ever full sus bike. Needless to say, resulted in an over the bars and knackered 'V' brake. Always good to get the first battles scars in early :| Jesus, people actually ride down that?! It felt like an i...

Thanks Nobby, but I'm going to hold out for a drop bar set up. Going to have a look at a Boardman adv 8.8 this morning, which looks like a lot of bang for the buck.

Re: Assistance with route please!

Thanks again for all the help with this, especially the scar house reservoir section. Is dead man's hill the stony track back up from the reservoir? If so, I was nowhere near doing it in a oner! The 3 days round the lakes was equally good - lots of iconic road passes (hardknott, wrynose, honister, n...

Wanted - medium gravel frameset or bike. Now sorted!!

My 13yo autistic son is currently obsessing over bikes and bikepacking (obviously a wonderful thing, and very much to be encouraged), but bitter experience tells me that the pendulum wil inevitably swing and he'll move back onto airfix models, bass guitars, dinosaurs, Mongolian folk music (I kid you...

Best options for reproifing old laser tent

Looking to plunder the riches of the boner hive mind once again.... I've been given an old terra nova tent (laser I believe, the old school, balloon bed era omm type) and am thinking I should probably reproof it before testing it in the field. What are people's current recommendations for reasonably...
