What sus fork?

Hi all, I'm looking to put a suspension fork on my Ramin 3+ for the occasional trail centre bash when in 29er mode. I was thinking 100mm but happy to hear why I'm totally wrong! Looking to spend as little as possible ideally as it won't be used all the much (I just have one weekend with mates coming...

Re: Which air mat?

Thanks for that link Stu, as luck would have it, my cross Devon ride starts from Taunton, so I may collect that at the start.

The multimat one looks good for the price, little concerned about the durability.

Cheers for the responses all.

Which air mat?

Hi all, Long term I'm looking to invest in a decent air mat, but as my girlfriend needs one for car camping etc I said I'd get one cheap and then pass that on to her when I get a new one. Any advice on a cheap and not completely useless air mat? I'm thinking inflatable rather than self inflating. Ch...

Re: Crossing Devon

Thanks for the info all, I'm still in two minds, I think the train timetable may dictate which way I ride.

If anyone fancies an anchor slowing them down and are free 25-27th ish of June, feel free to join me!

Re: WTD bivi bag/tarp

ARGH, thanks Stu, but my girlfriend oversaw the post and turns out she has ordered me a bivi bag after I had a moan the other night.

Thanks, hope someone else can take it/both of your hands!

Do you still have the tarp as may be interested in that?

Re: Crossing Devon

Thanks Rufus,

The Westcountry MTB route looks good, I've just found a GPX for that. Any idea on whether it would be better N-S or S-N? Only found a S-N version.

Cheers,

Andy

Crossing Devon

I'm off down to Devon for a jaunt in a couple of weeks and my destination and car will be in Bigbury, I thought it would be nice to do a coast to coast starting in Minehead or somewhere nearby on the North Coast then cycle through Exmoor and Dartmoor over a couple of days. My problem is, are there a...

Re: WTD bivi bag/tarp

Thanks all, I'd be interested in the standard Hunka if it's available, how much do you want for it Stu?

If not I'll keep an eye on the Hunka XL on eBay.

Cheers,

WTD bivi bag/tarp

Does anyone have a bivi bag FS, I was looking at the Alpkit Hunka (or XL) but they're sold out and I've got a trip weekend after next.

Also interested in a 3m x 3m tarp if there's one going?

Cheers,

Andy

Re: plot a route help

Does anyone have any recommendations for a site that works on mobile for plotting routes? My laptop has gone kaput and I like tweaking rides when I've got the paper maps out, which is a bit tricky in the office.

Extender sprocket

Lack of forethought has brought up a tricky issue. I recently bought a Ramin 3+ and it's a cracker, my only issue was the big sprocket just wasn't quite big enough, so I bought an Uber bike 40t extender with the hope to just pop one of the middle cogs out and move everything down. However it turns o...

Book trading club

Hi all, I was wondering if there was any interest in a BB book trading thread. People list any of the books they're willing to trade away which they think may be of interest to anyone and people can offer their books in a trade. I suggest as postage will likely be roughly equal, you just pay for you...

Re: 1x/ss conversion

Sorry, should have explained that bit. I'm not sure what the technical team is but the spline is knackered and ive crushed the thread on the drive side, I think it might be trying to put a left pedal on the drive side in a very tired state. It's all the original gear and it's done thousands of miles...

Hi all, Doing a bit of a tinker on the 2x Boardman hardtail and the whole chainset and BB are well past their best. I'm planning on investing in a Sonder Frontier on the RTW scheme after a good review I saw somewhere... In the meantime I still want to use the 26er and will probably use it for local ...

Re: Ennerdale/Buttermere Loop

Cheers, I did it clockwise from Ennerdale yesterday, boggy on the climb up to Floutern, great descent on slippery grass down to Crummock, crafty cake at the Cafe and then an awful lot of hike a bike over Scarth. Surprised nearly everyone I overtook with the bike across the shoulders. Dented a few eg...

Ennerdale/Buttermere Loop

Hi all, Planning a little local jaunt this weekend (live in Seascale), sadly a short one without camping kit as I've got dogs and horses to look after in the girlfriend's absence. I'm planning on parking up at Ennerdale, riding over to Buttermere for a coffee and cake then back over to the car. Curr...

Re: Bargain Alert Thread

This thread is pure evil: https://s18.postimg.org/49ibgax95/IMG_0308.jpg hang on that has 'normal' rear brake routing along the chainstay, not weird ritchey style down the seat stay like in the pics on merlin's site???? Or am I going mad? I was really tempted by this, any idea if it would take 27.5...
