Re: Van recommendations

I'm a trafic fan as well. I've moved the platforms between vans over the years. It's great to have bikes on top and boxes underneath. https://photos.smugmug.com/Other/Online-sharing/i-R26m8QR/0/bd50cb28/M/IMG_20200710_133617~2-M.jpg I tend to run with 6 seats and 5 bikes. I'm a reasonable home mecha...

Re: Today's Run

The pup is now old enough to run which has helped me find my mojo again. https://photos.smugmug.com/Other/Online-sharing/i-K2H9NP9/0/e2345d50/M/IMG_20210805_094301-M.jpg Had a great week running the trails around Kingussie with him first thing before starting family holiday things. When I say runnin...

Re: Soooooo far OT - non / low alcohol beers

I've been t-total for s good while so maybe my taste buds are converted to the alcohol free.

I buy by preference brewdog punk AF, Hazy Jane AF or the Bavaria or Erdinger lagers.

They can be high sugar though!

BB woes giant toughroad slr gx3 2018

My BB has been noisy and shattering the peace of my cycles. I took it off and replaced the cartridge bearings only for it to be noisier. I then ordered a new BB from Rutland which has bearing cages. If I adjust to take the play out of the crank it binds. I'm clearly doing something wrong. Any tips? ...

Re: First Aid Training

Sounds like you did great. There was CPR, local help found and a 999 call made. I'm glad you've reflected and decided on seeking more training as it will definitely help. These events happen when you least expect them and going from zero to taking control of a scene is a big ask. Witnessing and bein...

Post-micturition dribble (PMD) is the medical name to Google, and yes, I've experienced it too.

Re: Argyll Route Help

I'm based in Lochgilphead. I'd recommend some changes. I'm nights just now and pretty gubbed. I'll try and plan out an alternative and share via Komoot.

You'll almost pass my door so offer of tea etc if I'm not on the ambulance.

Back to the islands with the missus. Rib through 3m waves got us to Jura yesterday for a windy wet day exploring and traveling to Islay. Today was much improved!

Re: Rehydrating food with cold water.

I landed in Spain late on the last day of April not realising May Day, even if not a Monday, was a national holiday. So I set off around the Bosques del Sud with no cylinder for my stove. After 3 days of crunchy expedition meals I headed to a town and bought a stove. Yes I kept moving, yes I got cal...

Re: Normandy

Not able to book by phone either. No foot passengers or cyclists can book. Guess they're keeping the reduced passenger space for car users.

I expressed my disappointment that as a cyclist I was banned from travel in favour of cars.

Anyone have any travel experience to Normandy? I can't seem to be able to book bikes onto ferries and am considering taking my van over but where to park near Le Havre for a week?
