Re: A Severe Case of TMS

Apologies for not following up on some route help. Sorry you'll not be in Lochgilphead for a cuppa. You got to the start line though and did some exploring. πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»

Re: Argyll Route Help

I'm based in Lochgilphead. I'd recommend some changes. I'm nights just now and pretty gubbed. I'll try and plan out an alternative and share via Komoot.

You'll almost pass my door so offer of tea etc if I'm not on the ambulance.

Back to the islands with the missus. Rib through 3m waves got us to Jura yesterday for a windy wet day exploring and traveling to Islay. Today was much improved!

Re: Rehydrating food with cold water.

I landed in Spain late on the last day of April not realising May Day, even if not a Monday, was a national holiday. So I set off around the Bosques del Sud with no cylinder for my stove. After 3 days of crunchy expedition meals I headed to a town and bought a stove. Yes I kept moving, yes I got cal...

Good article, wrong photo?

From today's Times,

The cyclist looks like they're using their access rights responsibly. Wrong photo for article I think.

Re: Normandy

Not able to book by phone either. No foot passengers or cyclists can book. Guess they're keeping the reduced passenger space for car users.

I expressed my disappointment that as a cyclist I was banned from travel in favour of cars.

Normandy

Anyone have any travel experience to Normandy? I can't seem to be able to book bikes onto ferries and am considering taking my van over but where to park near Le Havre for a week? It's not bikepacking but my 15 daughter keen so a Eurovelo 4 might be a nice intro and she's doing French higher so miss...

Re: When?????

I'm on Skye. There's plenty of tents next to cars in lay-bys. No sign of them being moved on so looks like it's a free for all.

BBC reporting that wild camping is banned still in Scotland as numbers can't be managed.

Good luck with that.

Workshop day with my 15 year old lass. She found a design for a fire pit and once I demoed the grinder and welder and she tied her hair back she was off! https://photos.smugmug.com/Other/Online-sharing/i-NzqrbJM/0/c40deaa2/M/20200624_143823-M.jpg https://photos.smugmug.com/Other/Online-sharing/i-nnb...

Re: When?????

My neighbours now have their family up from London. That's the daughter, her husband and two kids up to visit the grandparents in the west of Scotland. This is a joke now. It's ignored, flaunted and the daily update is a party political broadcast. We can't go more than 5 miles to exercise but school...

Re: When?????

All night ride sounds like an interesting alternative and one where stopping for an hour or two to brew up and oggle the stars might be almost as therapeutic, IMO. HYOH, as they say 😎 That's a great idea. There's a good moon just now and I've never ridden by moon light. I know just the spot to aim ...

When?????

I'm just desperate to get away from it all. Work's been really hard and I need some time away skulking overnight in the wilds. If I break the rules/guidelines/law it'll have implications at work if folk want to make it hard for me. Is it really 6th July-ish before I can spend a night away from home ...
