I can't trust you. It's a forum. Please explain?
Seen lots of roadside signs n t-shirts. Great for boosting your carbon footprint. But on a PF?

Penny Farthing Torridon

Some tough hills up from Applecross to Loch Torridon. And today a bloke rode past on a penny farthing with a pith helmet.

Joff I presume?

Re: Great Glen Way - return?

Hundreds of folk cycle the A82 every year. I'm not aware of collisions involving cyclists. I don't know where you get your information from 'cos I've hit loads  I could try waving a tenner at any van that passes, then a twenty.... I can ride back but I want to chill on this trip with some swi...

Re: Fed up with Garmin. Alternatives?

I had a few problems with my Edge a few years ago. Did a search and was advised to delete the memory each time it played up. Every time I have a glitch - delete memory - glitch gone. But that is on my unit. For the last couple of years I have been going into the charity shops and buying vintage maps...

Great Glen Way - return?

Does anyone know of a good way to return from Inverness after doing the GGW? Bus that takes bikes? Cheap taxi with bike? The road is too dangerous to cycle. Is there a south of the lochs off road route? I've hiked and canoed it. Time to ride it. Just the return trip needs sorting. A few wild swims a...

Re: Sealskin alternative

I use them if my feet will get wet and stay wet. They reduce the flow of water splashing through my shoes. Rainy rides and canoe touring. I think of them as comfortable neoprene booties/socks like a diving wetsuit. When wet, the trapped water warms up. With this in mind, they work for me. But I have...

My Sealskinz socks are about 20 years old. Are newer versions better?
For me, they are just soggy socks but add warmth as long as I keep moving.

There are some bigger wheeled folders. See Alee's website Cycling About. He has used a few and done some touring.

Re: The best bikepacking bike is?

Thanks. I will check on the map.
I've spent a few nights there. The north side would be a hard on a bike. Muddy trail between tight boulders. South side would be better.

Re: The best bikepacking bike is?

What is the Loch Avon idea? (Below Cairngorm?)
I usually hike there for a night and fly fish. Thought it would be too boggy for a bike. Will be going in a week or two.

MULL

I am thinking about doing a trip on Mull. In Scotland now. Lochaline ferry over. I defo want to camp at the waterfalls -Eas Fors? I passed them a few years ago on a road ride. Looking at Maps.me and my 1971 Bartholomew map, I cannot see any decent non-road trails. Anyone got any ideas? Also any tips...

Re: Tents pots frames odds n ends FOR SALE

I am heading up north (Lakes/Scotland) for a few weeks holiday with the bike and canoe. Some of the items are still for sale but I won't have access to them until I get back. I'll be taking the North Face tent and MSR pots, so these can still be sold/posted while I am away. Cheers.

From when we started discussing it - just as a suggestion.
That would be last week some time.

Clever! That nicely excludes my previous application.

In winter I use thermal undies. Good for going out for a piddle.
Other times a silk liner and running shorts. I am always conscious of being disturbed during the night, so always like something on.

South Downs Way in Hurricane Hardtail

I try to do the South Downs Way when there is a westerly storm blowing, but this weekend, hurricane hardtail came in which got a bit ott. 1st day was great, had a swim in the River Arun, in the rain. 2nd fastest tidal river in the UK = a good workout. 2nd day, today, I sat around/ hammocked for the ...
