Re: North York Moors 300

Great writeup Phil, I wish my memory of the event was that good! My version is documented within these pics and incoherent video selfies. https://photos.app.goo.gl/wTbX9S6c3VHmUo2B9 An absolute banger of a route. Nice riding with you for a bit early on, and you were right. The crank/bb wobble was ab...

Re: Fast 29er Tyres

Race Kings were always a favourite but almost impossible to seal tubeless and no longer made ... I'll shut up. I bought a set of 2.2 inch race king protections last year. No probs with tubeless and very fast. No punctures yet either. Bit sketchy as a front tyre if loose/muddy but I just adjust my r...

The route looks great Rich. Nice change to head north for once. Gravel bike looks the perfect choice for both road sections and hike a bike :-bd

Re: BB200 route.

I called the (red) pub just off route @ 111km. They will be open until 10 or 11 and can do chips / garlic bread as well as normal bar snacks.

On a related topic, any tips on calculating the required calories for the whole route?

Strava said 7500kJ for last year but no idea how accurate that is.

Re: Oval Chainrings for GRX

Might it be cheaper / easier to procure a second hand Shimano 104bcd four bolt chainset that you can put a cheap ring onto for occasional use as a straight swap for your GRX chainset when you're doing mainly off-road events? I've wondered about this but would the increased axle length of a mtb cran...

Re: 2.5 seasons down sleeping bag

I'm a gnats dick under 6ft and the pipedream 400 fits fine. Never been cold in it. Also never used it in winter though! Used at Jenn Ride recently and wasn't too hot. Ideally I'd like something a bit lighter for summer conditions ... would love a cumulus 250 quilt but not up for paying the customs f...

I've got a couple of 4.0 jumbo Jim liteskins that need a new home. I'll be at the bb200 so happy to bring them down for you to sample unless you're not interested in anything that 'small'!
