WTD knackered rucksacks

I am getting mildly into sewing projects and restoration. Rat nibbled away at it? Damp and mildew? Zip bust but the body fabric is ok? I'm thinking of making a zombie luggage collection. I occasionally browse charity shops, but rare to get decent fabric or buckles as charity shops wouldn't sell brok...

Re: wtd 29" QR bouncy forks

I have some x fusion slants. Tapered steerer, from memory it is cut reasonably short.

I took them off for rigid, but also may well need a service? Stantions are in good nick, one of the adjustment knobs sheared off.

If you are interested drop us a message and I can photograph

Massive top tube bag

Made a top tube bag. Indeed it was an enjoyable process. Satisfyingly tricky at points and well considered. Had this fabric for 6 months now. I've doodled and daydreamed many ideas for how to best utilise the xpac and cordura fabric I had. Keeping on procrastinating from actually doing anything. Bro...

Being a land lubber from Birmingham, ferries feel proper adventurous to me. The smaller the better. This route was created to hunt one out, then smash some classic climbs. https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/pw/ABLVV85O4FBVvgxSrR8_YXWY95ZoeJ83jAAsuCml77feaH6Ey4rdr5gfu7OQEEBPEus0PMeJP4xXwCw97DFh3k0t633...

Re: Bivvy a Month 2024

Cheers Pete! Yeah just about. It was tough getting through the work day, but no change there really.

Quite enjoyed the commuter BaM but would like to get a train somewhere more rural for another. 11 to go.

Re: Bivvy a Month 2024

Seeing things in a different light. This trip feels the absolute everything of squeezing it in to make it work. Life continuously got in the way of me getting out on my bike. I'd packed it up several times, scribbled enough of a route out, then been drawn elsewhere. Last night of January, it had to ...

Re: Have tarps lost their popularity?

I'd add that the tent weather protection is more significant on a level playing field. As in a field with no exterior protection. Tarps can utilise these half walls/ big trees / parts of the natural landscape much better in my experience. In typical internet fashion, I do not have any experience of ...

Re: What other sports/fitness/exercise do you do?

First up, good on ya for reaching out. I've been there and it is hard. Does slightly depend if you live in the city or hills? What worked for me was two things; one vague and fluffy with the other concrete. Fluffy was rebuilding the attitude of moving the body. The important part of this is doing so...

I believe the key for the trike was being able to pedal at super duper low speeds, rather than aero. Although I could be mistaken for another similar record attempt.

Re: Wanted: nearly everything to start adventures!

I've got a 15 degrees comfort rated synthetic sleeping bag that I believe weighs 650g and packs pretty small. Possibly a bit too thin, for the UK, most of the time. I'd love you to get some use out of it, and selecting overnighters based on the weather forecast you definately could, so if you fancy ...

Re: Pile / Pertex and the moon on a stick.

I've got a Rab vapour rise that has a kinda a micro fleece liner instead of the thick pile, with windproof outer. Been thinking of moving it on if you're interested? I fit medium usually and it was bottom end of fitting me, now I've bulked out a tad. Other thing to consider may be this running kit? ...

Purchase wood en route to bothy?

Afternoon all, So my current resemblance of a bikepacking plan is to get a train into the depths of Wales, roam some nice tracks, then warm myself in a bothy (probably Nant Syddion). I would like to have a fire (and responsibly bring my own fuel for it) but not carry the wood/coal for my entire trip...

I struggled in the past and it took so long applying sleep health practices before they came to anything. Definitely got worse before it got better. We're talking about a month, but it's super personal and situational. I had this elaborate sleep health routine, same playlist, hot chocolate, candles,...

Just Eat Out So the idea for this bivi has been lingering in my dreambox for like forever. It was simple; take my just eat bike and box out bikepacking. Could I get the alpkit hiking rucksack? I'm undecided on the osprey hip pack as well. It's been on my wishlist for like forever, but a Terra Nova one has pretty much plugged that hole. If you could hold on posting the rucksack for a couple of days for me to decide? But anyone else is welcome to swoo...
