Re: Gears. Rohloff v Others ?

At circa £1,200 I am thinking that the added value is hard to justify. Ian The money is already spent though isn’t it? You don’t need to buy another, just rebuild it into a 650b wheel and carry on. Good idea, but unfortunately it doesn't appear to work. I borrowed a 650B wheel with a 50mm tyre, whi...

Re: General use magnifier.

I have an illuminated hand held magnify glass, similar to the one below. I used it mainly for navigation at sea, but being hand held, it was not always convenient, especially when the yacht is heeled over. My better solution nowadays is a cheap pair of reading glasses that are a little stronger than...

Re: Komoot & winter event

Komoot use Open Source mapping so it's likely that no one has added that track yet. It's also highly likely that no one's actually ridden it for years  I recall there was a WRT GR close by about 9 years ago, could be the last time. https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEiFhollsNdzM...

I knew about the OSM, but didn't know about the editing. Will give it a go.

Komoot & winter event

Hi, I've been planning my route for the forthcoming winter event. I'm mainly using OS mapping. I thought I would check some paths on Komoot (free version), to see if anyone else had travelled the same way. However, despite OS showing a public right of way on a reasonably looking path (although it ma...

Re: BB200 Saga section.

At nearly 59 I think I may need some assistance, so I’ve recruited a young boy (42) to carry the heavy stuff.
Is this still in the spirit of ‘self supporting’?

Re: TINAT 320A

Thanks for all the comments. Fortunately I do know the area a bit from previous trips and a couple Bearbones winter bivvy events, but your comments have confirmed my concerns (fears), as well as the need of having a plan B (and C). I can't find Llan on the map, where is it? I'm keen on meeting Texas...

TINAT 320A

Hi Anyone planning on doing the TINAT 320A this coming weekend? Any views on the route? The gpx is now out and it certainly looks a tough challenge. I’ve put it on Ride with GPS if you have not seen it - https://ridewithgps.com/trips/35754728 The more I look at the route, the more I worry that I won...
