Planet X XLS Gravelwanker carbon bike (57cm large)
I'm, selling my large Planet X XLS (57cm large) to make space for a new bike. It is a great gravel bike and will even take a few bags if you want to go bikepacking. But on the flip side you can put some road tyres on and keep up on a road ride (I rode the London Ride 100 on it). It's light and respo...

Pinnacle Ramin 3+ Large (SOLD)
I'm, selling my Ramin 3+ to make space for a new bike. If you're looking at this you probably know a little about these bikes but here is a quick run down: - Ideal bike packer. - Alu frame, steel forks. - Cage mounts on fork legs, downtube (2 x top, 1 x bottom). - Eccentric bottom bracket that can t...

Re: Taking a knife to a gunfight.
I've noticed that the large size has become available for on-line purchase today. Did you manage to order one before and they failed to fulfill your order? Anyway, I'm off for a walk around the block and am hoping they'll all be sold out upon my return 'cos I'm sorely tempted (but mustn't!) Thanks!...

Re: Taking a knife to a gunfight.
I bought a carbon cx bike on the cycle to work scheme about 7 years ago as I wanted to buy a road orientated bike that would also let me dash along the odd bridleway. Plus I couldn't face rim brakes. It's got limited tyre clearance so I'm stuck to 35mm rear and 40mm front which actually is a blessin...

This one works for me. I put the empty the cannister in the freezer for 10mins and the donor cannister in my pocket before using it.

Re: bespectacled night time off road runners
LED Lenser H7 here too. Only annoying thing is that the rear button that changes function is very easy to accidentally press and hold. This then puts the light into a 'programme mode' and can turn it off, or on a odd moments. Like just as you are lighting the stove in the dark with a hood up! But ot...

Re: That's a lot of bike for the money
I'm waiting... No idea when they'll have stock. I've emailed them but they won't tell me! UPDATE: Phoned my local store who have confirmed that it will be an online only bike and that it's unlikely to be available to order for at least 4 weeks as there is currently no stock on its way to the UK (and...

Have a look at https://www.four4th.co.uk/.
They're local to me and most of my mates and me use them. They're reliable, tough, and seem to be long lasting. In fact i don't know anyone who's replaced theirs in about 3 years.

Thanks.

Re: How Ethical is Aldi Merino...?
Mine arrived in the post this morning. Just looked at the packet and there's nothing about ethical standards.
There is something called STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® but on googling this appears to be a quality mark.

Re: What Handlebar Bell - I know forgive me
I have a Timber Bell. It's good but sometimes not loud enough. I used to have a squeezy horn. It sounded like a clown car. Never failed to raise a smile from people. It was as ugly as sin though but I cable tied it below the bars next to the stem. Cheap too. https://www.houseoffraser.co.uk/brand/cos...

Re: What's The Furthest You've Had To Walk Back Due To A Mechanical?
6 miles and about 2 hours walk back on a sub-zero night ride.
Chain snapped and flew off the bike into the void. Despite 30mins of searching I had to admit defeat when bits of me started going numb.
Returned the next day with the dog and a rake. He sniffed it out!
