Re: Any foam roller folks on here?

Hell yes. Because of some arthritis in my hip and consequent reduced joint-space I cant achieve that classic cyclists butt stretch position, my leg just wont bend like that so the only way I can stretch my butt muscle is to use various rollers and foam balls. I had the other hip replaced about 5 yrs...

I actually weighed myself at 84.4kg a few days ago after a mahoosive bike ride and an even more mahoosive dump but dehydration and surprise evacuations don't count.

Target is 82Kg

Re: Fat Fighters '22 - (The year of victory edition!)

I never thought I'd see myself on this thread having been mostly racing snake shaped most of my life, but at 56yrs and 5 years post hip replacement I'm more draft-excluder snake that's swallowed a lounge chair, so here I am. Mr's O started an 800cal diet in Jan which I go along with plus a portion o...

Re: Yay, it's cheery Friday.

I had an interesting email today... Sadly I don't have a contact no for anyone at the care-home so we're trying to sort it out with what might as well be a mixture of smoke-signals and chinese-whispers. It seems a shame you don't have an email address for them or someone that may have their contact...

Re: Yay, it's cheery Friday.

Hello, I've not been on here for a while, it's lovely to be back. I had an interesting email today from a customer who bought a big tandem trike from us for her son's care home at the very other end of the country. She has a complaint that the care-home staff haven't been able to ride it because the...

Rocwood Sealant - £7 a litre!

Made for tractors, probably with flecks of tractor tyre in it, seals gashes upto 7mm and costs an entire 7 quid - for a litre! https://www.abbeygardensales.co.uk/webupload/ABBEYGAR/CUSTOM/SDJTRADING/LARGE/sd-0841.jpg I came to know of this stuff from the guy who posts the Rough Stuff Fellowship arch...

Re: Tyre Liners

Those very long in the beard may remember a product called TuffyTape. It was a kind of thick felt that worked as a tyre liner. Those that used it attested to it's awfulness and that the advertising strap-line used by the producer was accurate in the wrong way. "Nothing works better than TuffyTa...

Re: Interesting for those with a mechanical mind - contains bikes.

A good idea produced by roadies who've only ever ridden in the most conservative manner. What's the coasting position on hte nubike? Whatever, it's not going to be as stable or as tunable as on a standard transmission, and for this reason its dead in the water. Can you imagine riding a rough descent...

Re: Who's first for a mountain e-trike?

Oh yes. Would love that. All the fun of trikes is in the corners and fighting (playing with) the natural tendency to instability. Only thing is it's made of pig-iron and the battery would only get you about 10 miles. 10 miles of insane shitz'n'giggles mind. Youd better take a ton of cheap rear mechs...

Wtd: Thomson inline 27.2 Black + Flite Ti

I'm after a Thomson inline seatpost, 27.2mm, black. 330mm ideally but longer would do also.

Also after a Flite Ti in black.

Anyone got either to move on?
Cheers.

Lithium or AA rechargeable. My 600 will do up to 18 hours on a good set with a few power-saving options enabled. Have just got myself an Oregon 600 and have enabled some power saving functions. I'd like to see if I can improve things further, so Which have you enabled? Thanks. This page https://www...

I've seen someone else waiting and waiting.......and waiting for a RIbble 725. Currently thinking of asking for a refund apparently. Lovely looking bikes even so. The Fairlight Strael is certainly rideable on rougher ground though it's meant as more of a road bike, if you were riding most of the tim...

Re: Pillow recommendations

I use the 5L Exped drybag that my PJs live in (merino baselayers and warm socks). Remove contents, refill with folded wool cycling tops, close to include some air. Slide the bag into a buff. It ends up about travel pillow sized, but traps heat, gives soft support without being bouncy, and isn't clag...

Serviced the tubelessness of my tyres. You know the way old club-men used to have gear ratios written on the white bit at the bottom of their front mudguard? Is there an equivalent for recording when you last topped up? I think I'm going to start recording it in felt-tip on the top of my downtube. O...

Cleaning the gunk off the bead is fun - now to try and get a seal again. Dark art.....

How about that? I got rid of most of the dried goo, teased the bead into place, refilled and up it went, easy.
It's witchcraft I tell you.
