Re: Motorcyclists.....what ya got?

those Ural kosak bikes with sidecars Now you're talking, those Ural combinations look unstoppable. I had a ride in one of those, being imported the chair was in the middle of the road, it was the scariest thing I’ve ever experienced. Specifically the dnepr urals.. They look vaguely exciting imo. Re: Motorcyclists.....what ya got?

Not much motorbike heritage in my family/friends but I've dabbled over the years.. so enjoy seeing folks machines even if I don't know their background. Currently I have a recent husqvarna 125 and an old school honda africa twin. Often when I lust over future projects its things like the 70s husqvar...

Working from home  Well I run a farm and various add ons even more so solo at present, so in that respect nothing has changed. Slightly jealous of all the folk I see cruising around on bikes in the sun and knocking through their odd jobs at home, but I imagine the stress of not having your in...

Which brings me into the Forestry commission closing the forests down, I think it’s just the facilities that the offer rather than all of the forest (which obviously would be almost impossible to manage). Can’t blame them Swinley Forest run by Crown estates has shut near me too. Folk were implored ...

Re: If we close up for a bit...

Saw so many large family groups of walkers and folk on bikes in my neck of the woods today. One particular group decided to climb some gates and stroll across a field full of lambs with a dog off a lead, suffice to say I gave them a stark reality check coupled with a wtf are you playing at. Some peo...

Re: If we close up for a bit...

Popped in the local supermarket to do some shopping for them and an isolating elderly neighbour and it was cleaned of fresh veg and meat at 10am. I haven't been to a supermarket for 2 weeks as have been effectively self isolating aka lambing. So less chance of catching much other than the disease k...

Perhaps this isn't so clear or just coming over the horizon (ie next week) Most of my friends run hospitality shaped business so feel for them a lot UK Govt have taken a...

Also riding a bit at the moment. Will stick to solo rides in the local area, so pretty mellow/hardly a soul. My daily working life I feel is far riskier than my leisure cycling, but totally on board with not wanting to be any kind of burden to the nhs. Many aspects of my life are quite easily self c...

Re: Salsa go SS Gravel.

Quite possibly, but in my opinion there's a limit. I personally feel that limits been pushing since their steel frames (QBP) went up from in the region of 550 / 599 to now 800 quid for a 4130 frame set. I originally saw the products as simple, value, long lasting but that's not the case anymore for...

I've seen several folk near me plowing through flood water recently, hope they haven't lived to regret that aswell. My weekend also went awol with mechanic gremlins.. Had a jcb spewing red diesel everywhere while coming back through Henley, not the best scenario on a Sunday. Semi dismantled now yet ...

I present my knock off version of it. Having a look at this now, good work :-bd I'd mapped out some similar stuff past the western end of the Ridgeway but seeing how it links to the SDW is interesting. All I need to do is avoid Reading and route it back towards the Ridgeway eastern end and it'll be...

Re: Grand Rando - New Forest - 4/5 July

I've been before as social relaxed way of exploring the new forest, also have a lot of time for the guys at Woods Cyclery so it's a fun event all round. I guess its more for the fancy coffee/cake gravel crowd than anything bikepacking, but equally this years dates have not worked out well. This seem...

Was this from The Adventurists folk!? I've seen content from their organised Monkey run crossing the Peruvian Andes which brought a smile to my face.
That group do seem to put on some fun 'events', although obviously at a price

WTD - Thomson 27.2 Black seatpost

Can't seem to find many second hand ones around so by chance does anyone have one they wanted to sell on?
Thomson 27.2 inline seatpost 250/330 in black would be ideal! It's for a road bike

Many thanks!

I purchased this in my local store recently, mainly on a whim as never see seat stay rear lights in store.
Must say really impressed with them, to the extent going to pick up another and run a pair on my winter bike.

Haven't watched the video yet (will wait til after work) but had read about this story on Latin bikepacking pages on fb. Remnants from riding in that neck of the woods. Scary accident! There seemed a lot of criticism of their approach along the lines of unprepared foolhardy foreigners with no helmet...

Re: Have R@pha finally lost the plot?

"Business in new product marketing shocker" I wouldn't wear that for servicing my bikes but they know few would. It's a styling spin / cue isn't it? I think it's good looking clothing and the price isn't daft - Levis 501s are £70-80 and a Carhartt work jacket is more than the £110 ...
