Re: Rohloff mated to drop bars...
Not a bar end shifter per se, but you can fit the standard Rohloff twist shifter to a bar end using a Hubbub adapter or a similar homemade adapter. https://www.sjscycles.co.uk/gear-spares/hubbub-drop-bar-adaptor-mount-for-twistgrip-73-mm/ I've had the Hubbub adapter on my touring bike with Rohloff f...

I see the Sanza online shop sells Raro which is a powdered juice drink from New Zealand, used to buy it when I lived out there.

Creamola Foam?
Now available as Krakatoa Foam https://www.scottishretrosweets.com/swe ... mola-foam/
Not really any cheaper than some of the budget sports isotonic drink tablets though.

Re: Troubleshooting (Rohloff) help needed
The sprocket and carrier arrived this morning and have now been fitted - no roughness/no rumble :-bd Apologies for the sh*te photo but you can see that the old one was really bad and had gone (I think) beyond the point where spinning is around was going to work. Note to self... change the chain and...

Re: Troubleshooting (Rohloff) help needed
The chainring is new but I don't think reversing the sprocket is an option if it's too worn. Can't seem to find screw on ones anymore as they all seem to be splined which requires a special/expensive carrier. If I have to order one of these it'll be next week before I get it. SJSC sell their own br...

Re: When?????
Well, this bloke https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-north-east-orkney-shetland-53129414 has just restarted his long distance walk around the UK, after 3 months hiatus living in isolation on an island in Shetland. I haven't heard any notification that we are now allowed to go on long distance wal...

I see no reason why someone who is self-isolating at home shouldn't be able to go out for a bike ride on their own, providing no cafe stops, etc. are taken.

I have the Blackburn Outpost seatpack, and have found it to be pretty good.
I got mine on ebay though, so didn't pay full price.

Re: Washing goretex techniques
All Goretex waterproof fabrics are of a laminate construction. I presume he meant the distinction between the 2/2.5/3 layer membrane waterproof fabrics which have a breathable PTFE membrane on a woven outet (and maybe/not an inner layer). And the DWR treated fabrics? Yeah, 2/2.5/3 layer laminates, ...

Maybe one of those large floppy plastic buckets would be a suitable source to cut the pattern out of?

I cycled across the interior (Sprengisandur route) 30 years ago, great place, amazing scenery.
Also cycled the ring road from Hofn back to Reykjavik, it was nearly all still gravel back then.

Re: Laminating printed maps
I use my Fugawi software 1:50,000 OS mapping and print out at 1:100,000, to get more coverage on each A4 sheet.
Not sure if that's possible with the OS own mapping software?
