Surely bad news would have been an alert to say you'd just made a payment of £12.5k for a watch?

Anyhoo, looks like a nice night out that.

Re: Woods Rat Run - one goes slightly carefree in Dorset

I see your Bikemonger quote, on my walk back California Farm on the 2nd day, I walked passed the old Bikemonger Shop…. Is it still a thing? Looked a bit sorry for itself. I know Charlie sold up but you’d think you’d keep it as a fairly well known brand. He sold the business, I think the guys who ru...

Re: Bivvy a Month 2024

But! I hear you cry, "What about Rule 4???" Well, as has already been well documented, bivvying provides all manner of opportunities to engage the locals in conversation. Sometimes these natters may be precursors to kipping behind the pub, sometimes they may draw on local knowledge for the...

Re: Bivvy a Month 2024

Given the warm weather, I took it as an opportunity to see how little kit I could go with, left the bike at home, and ran out to the Peak District. Happy to report I could get all the essentials (beer, cheese, Smidge), plus a few luxury items (sleeping kit, toothbrush) into a 15L backpack. The extra...

Re: Tubeless pump?

I've got a small Milkit bottle, I've managed to reset 42c tyres with it, but not necessarily at the first attempt. Re: Lezyne, I don't find the reversible connector to be a problem, and the little pressure release button does seem to help with preventing valve cores unscrewing. I've got the one Dave...

Re: Which half frame bag?

I had a chat with Harry from Wizard Works recently, their take on zips is to use big chunky ones, and that lace up attachment along the top tube can provide a bit of 'give' that can relieve the strain on zips. Their bags aren't waterproof though. If you want something with welded seams, the Alpkit s...

Re: Gravel Bike Tyres

Gravel tyres I've ridden: Conti Speed Ride - now seem to be discontinued, and I only ever used them with tubes, but they worked pretty well Schwalbe G-One all-round - great on hardpack, squirrelly on anything muddy/loose (but noticeably more surefooted than slicks). Durability - pretty good, right u...

Re: Bivvy a Month 2024

I'm back to it, went out last night :-bd As I've broken my 2024 BAM run, shall I still post it here, or somewhere else please, Mr Scores-on-the-doors?
