OT: Vegan cheese recommendations
Slightly OT but having been plant based now for 6 months (health reasons), I cannot find a decent cheese that tastes vaguely interesting. The ones that I've tried either:- 1. Taste like rubber 2. Feel like rubber 3. Have no taste 4. Texture of ...I dunno! 5. Smell like the dog! 6. All of the above. ...

Re: What does your Christmas look like?
Is it not harder work to be bah humbug/miserable than enjoy the time of year and what it has to offer. Family (I know, cant choose them!), friends, bit of time off, merriment etc? My brother is always looking for an excuse not to enjoy Xmas,...then again, since we were kids, he's always been a miser...

Re: what is a bikepacking bike?
Is bikepacking just another industry marketing label like 'down country' as an excuse for over priced/unnecessary stuff to be justified as trendy for the fashionistas? Have you seen the price of some the plastic wheeled drop handled stuff? Fliipin eck, £10k for a beefed up road bike! (Ducks) Surely ...

Looking for a bit of inspiration to improve on multi day events and just improve things overall.
So far a lot of preamble but moving into more interesting bits!

Re: Inflatable mat- recommendations
Thanks all for the recommendations.
Have taken a punt on the Big Agnes. I know it goes against the VFM statement but in for a penny..., turns out one of my chums has one and swears by it.
Will let you know outcome when it's used as Stu says possibly not many folk on here have experience of one.

Inflatable mat- recommendations
Looking for a new inflatable mat that packs small and is value for money as current one has sprung too many leaks and CBA to sort them all out.
Not too fussed about weight as will be used for BAM fairly locally but comfort high on requirements list.
Anyone with recommendations?

Re: Popping pill - TD related (or not)
Unfortunately no area of cycling is clean of drug use/abuse - though down hillers are probably just stoned. I do downhill and not sure I quite agree with the statement, its a bit unfair, even meant in jest, the folk who do this are some of the most focused and dedicated to their chosen discipline, ...

Rack or seat bag?
All new to this so doing a bit of research before deciding which way to go? Most of the bike packing stuff that I have looked at or read about suggests that a seat bag like Alpkit Koala or Big Papa are a good way to go, but does anyone use a good old fashioned rack with a bag on top of it or somethi...

I live not too far from Knighton, have a large garden that's ok for camping, if desperate, half way between Knighton and Rhayader, or if anyone wants a lift anywhere locally! Whisky works as a local currency
