Re: A tent for the taller?

When prone and wet outside, foot height is my issue too. Dimensions all round very similar to my Nordisk Telemark ULW 2, although that end frame (fiddly though it may be) gives a claimed height of 350mm against the Tele (rather saggy-when-wet end poles design) of around 200mm. Yes, heavier - conside...

Re: GBDuro Starts Tomorrow 1st August 8am

Thanks - I can't see anything there that prevents or restricts GBDURO riders passing through the north west or north of England though? Am I missing something?

How do they make batteries last more than 3-4 days? Is everyone on dynamo charging do we think?

Re: Wayfarer Centenary: a weekend of bike rides & lantern sl

A wonderfully 'British' cycling occasion - a myriad range of period characters and off road ('ish) machines (original and homage) in a fabulous setting under clear blue skies. Credit to all who picked their way to the top to the Wayfarer memorial on the skinniest of tubes and tyres. Most steeds were...

The flask lid is probably a mug, just not of the dangling variety. Uhm but no no handle so no dangle. I can't help but feel that standards amongst the hipster community are begining to slip somewhat ... I mean, there's no axe either  With such authenticity on show these days it's hard (and ex...

Great info - many thanks.

So could I reasonably expect to get 5 x 20% to 80% charges over a weekend out of a 10000mAh battery do you think?

Better Battery Life?

I use my phone for constant track recording and as such it drains from 100% to 10% in about 4-5 hours. Should I recharge my iPhone when it has exhausted each time or would I be better off running it with a trickle charge continuously from an external battery? Are there any benefits either way?

Re: What's the Point in Racing?

Some great debate already. Notions of 'competitiveness' has always been a struggle since school days for me. I should be clear from the outset that I've no talent or inherent ability/don't train etc so have no experience of winning. What I do have though is loads of experience of being on start line...

Re: Genesis "Fugio"....

I have a first gen Fugio (from Ebay for £400) and can with conviction say it's the best 'feel-of-steel' frame I've ridden - undone somewhat by the rigid carbon fork mind! If it had been made available with more rear tyre clearance (it'll take about a 35mm - but not say a Rock'n'Road) and a steel for...

Is this a bike packing event i.e. are we expected to sleep over at some point during the 170km? Can't see any reference to 'sleeping/bivi' etc. on the website. All in a day slightly... Thanks for the comments. On the decision-making (1) - I was swayed last minute to take my 'B' (comfort) list by the hailstones just before the start! Hence I quickly added a 3 season bag on the rack and swapped over some warmer clothes. As it turned out - I needn't have carried them as it was mild (...
