Re: Cheap OS topo maps on a Garmin with no microSD card slot?

If you’ve got a SD card reader you can just connect your garmin to a pc and then just copy the .img file from the SD card to the Garmin folder on the garmin device

and dropped off a very nice lightweight down jacket Me too. Made the mistake of trying it on with the hood. Almost roasted in there! Same. And same. Arrived just after I'd repacked my seatpack for last night's bivvy so decided to leave it for next time. Tried it on quickly, but 10 seconds was enoug...

Does the Bermuda Triangle start at that road junction? The first 3 have arrived at that junction and then just stopped for hours.

It is a microlight but I was actually going to look into getting it 'repaired' eventually since otherwise it's in good nick - I know rab does all sorts of repair and refurbish options, I've just chased it up yet.

My old Rab jacket has got clumpitus after its last wash (and it's 7 years old) so I've given this a punt.

Re: Riding in sandals....... anyone ?

I've taken my Keens touring - they were mostly taken as evening shoes that didn't take up much space. Mine are quite thin and flexy but they do have a toebox so they work well for around town riding but not gone over 10 miles on them to know how they'd cope with longer distances.

I was going to go for Pathfinder Pro but the Byways are half the price so it's hard to overlook those.

Re: Today's Run

I tried my first 10k in 6 weeks and it didn't go so well - it was very very warm and legs felt dead so ended up walking up most of climb up the hill at the north end of town and then ran out of water by the time I got to the top. Discretion was the better part of valour so walked the remaining 3.5k ...

Re: Wildlife

I had an odd looking bird of prey circling over me on my run today - probably a buzzard but it looked like something had taken a big bit out of one wing where it was missing several flight feathers but the wing tip was all intact. It didn't seem to affect its circling around on the thermals much. I ...

The main problem i've had with RWGPS is that it really seems to prefer the road when auto-routing and I couldn't find a way to tweak the settings.

Re: What other sports/fitness/exercise do you do?

I took up running at 50 due to a lack of time - I can be out of the door in under 5 minutes, get a decent amount of exercise from my front door and still have a shower all inside my lunch hour. I still prefer cycling but I can’t get around the fact that I can run a 5k in around the same amount of ti...

Re: Online sharing platform

You can share routes on Komoot without having a paid account - I’ve only ever used it to plan and/or swap routes with friends, I’ve never recorded a ride. You can also upload a gpx as a route, edit it to suit and then share it with only specific people
