Re: Squirt Lube or something Else?

Top 4 Drip Lubes AFAIK are (in order of my recommendation*) - UFO Drip All Conditions - Silca Super Secret - Effetto Flower Power - Tru Tension Tungsten All Weather The first 2 are MEGA clean, the latter 2 dirtier but may last longer in wet conditions due to this (higher concentration of oil). All t...

Squirt and Smoove are decent, but both old technology (if chain lube counts as technology?!) There are better products on the market now for all use types, 'the best' is hard to say as it does depend on use requirements. https://zerofrictioncycling.com.au/lubetesting/ has more info than you'll ever ...

Garmin Basecamp is the easiest for this that I've found. Old school looking program but easy to do the above.

Also going for the 'see what happens' approach here. Looks like a few more options for supplies than last year. Am planning a leisurely one so probably stopping somewhere. I'll also check my filter works this year after totally running out of water and finding my sawyer literally wouldn't let a drop...

This can work off the stem or bars. I'm using one to hold lights at the moment but it'd also work to hold a bag away from the ht https://www.topeak.com/global/en/produc ... arxtender-

Nothing personally from me but they are the chosen carbon wheel of DCR wheels, who are highly regarded wheelbuilders. That either means they're great or just good margins/availability! I'd hope the former though...

Re: Shimano brakes

Have you tried bleeding them backwards through the bleed nipple Phil? Good shout, I've got two syringes that I attach top and bottom for tough bleeds - squeeze most of the fluid through from the top (using the squeeze/unlock/lock/release method) then push it back up. The brake fluid equivalent of f...

Re: Bargain Alert Thread

What's the attraction of the watertogo bottles given their short lifespan compared to sawyers etc, is it just ease of use? Just curious incase I'm missing out Ease of use for me, plus the fact I used my Sawyer twice and it jammed solid - so no cheaper overall!* Having drunk from the W2G bottle, the...

it is definitely harder to squeeze than a standard bottle but it takes me considerably less effort and time to get 500ml of water from the bottle than when using my Trailshot. Re: Increasing rotor diameter. Worth it?

BB7s will likely be the weakest link in the system, if they're not perfectly set up they're not great (and any pad wear will cause them to revert to less great) In the end in the same situation I spent far too much money and time before getting a Juin Tech R1, sticking it on the front and never havi...

If the local shop said £15 then...

A. it might be easier to pay them

...but....

B. They won't be using decent bearings!

Ps at the end of the doc there are measurements for the bearings, if you can find the right hub and out those in a breeding finder it'll give you the part number

Re: Tents, tarps, bivvies... help!

Thanks for the replies all. One thing that looks less than ideal about the Soloist is that you have to pitch the inner first, which means potentially getting wetter if it is chucking it down. Is that a significant drawback? It looks pretty quick to erect so maybe not. You can pitch outer first with...

I've used the super c for light off roading, it did come loose at the fixing bolt on day 2 but let's give it the benefit of the doubt that I'd not cranked it enough. I also looked into the support stays but chose against them in the end as I read they were discontinued due to causing more problems t...

Looks like you might have fitted it wrong - it's meant to stick out backwards nearly 90 degrees from the hanger. There are two prongs on the mech, you'd think the hanger goes between them like I assumed first time I saw one, it actually goes against the lower one. Page 8 here where it says 'stopper ...

Re: What Gravel ****** brakes - GRX worth the dosh?

I've used almost everything that can attach to a cable - BB5, BB7, Spyres, Hy/Rd and Juin Tech R1s Out of those by far the best is the Juin Tech R1, second would be a toss up between Hy/Rd and BB7 - the Hy/Rd were a disappointing 'not really a step up' for me. As designed, they go almost to the bar ...

Perhaps your cotton/nylon socks protect the ankles more?
Could be related to this, that the other socks are compressing the calves and cutting the blood off. As a bigger guy with large calves I've had similar with certain socks, I generally wear shorter socks to avoid this

Super C, if you ask me.
