He has special legs though. Deffo gonna make it!

Hopefully see you next year at the start!

That last hill after Inveroran may slow down his pace. But damn it looks close!
I’m sitting a car park, while my kids do a circus class in Rochdale. Glued to his dot! Go Liam!

Re: HT550 2021

Liam for president! Dotwatcher just said he was going at 15mph! Someone get a drone out there to follow his final run. They’re all riding brilliantly - sounds like there’s been some full on weather. I’ve been hooked all weekend. Gotta love this. I tried to ride this route last august in blazing sun....

Re: bike (back) packing

yeah I agree with all that, it is definitely as much about riding technical trails with bike that feels more "normal", as it is about making hiking with the bike easier. don't think I'm getting out tonight after all but I'll post some pics of the setup while I do some light evening fettlin...

bike (back) packing

I've been reducing the faff on my bike, by putting my sleeping gear on to my back. I know that's bad for long journeys (i.e.: weeks on end) and for non-technical stuff; but my routes are fairly technical and are mostly only 1 nighters at the moment. I can get my sleeping bag, bivvy bag, mat and some...

Just thinking about the Mossdale disaster, the radio programme mentioned at the end of the article is still available on the BBC website here: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/b009fwy6

Also, (and sorry if you've answered this question before) - how do you like the Jones riser bars?

Re: Bivvy a month 2018.

Sneaked out for my second BAM last night. -6 degrees was a bit of an eye-opener i.e. I didn't sleep loads, but I loved it. The snow and the calm night meant it was beautifully quiet. My feet got pretty cold by the end of the night and packing the gear back on the bike was a nightmare for the fingers...

Re: Bivvy a month 2018.

Finally getting off my ass to join in with this thread, after years of checking out other people's trips. My January trip was a late night loop ride from my house. A couple of hours of Calderdale moors and then a bivvy in Hardcastle Crags woods. Then back in time for breakfast. Next month I hope to ...

Garmin advice

I'm guessing there is plenty of chat about Garmins here already - please recommend other posts if so.... I plan to buy my first Garmin this year. Specifically I am going to do the Cairngorms loop (group start in september) and some ITT training rides as well. I plan to attempt the ht550 next year an...

Re: Wheels/tyres

Honest question to the experienced: are tubeless really worth the effort? Its a question I keep considering. I've never run tubeless but as I finally retire my cotic soul and plan a stooge mkIII, I find myself a bit confused. I think I would like to try velocity rims (Dually front, blunt 35 rear) w...
