Glue - alternative to needle and thread

I hate and can't sew. Glue technology has moved on so much over the last 15 years that the adhesive is often stronger than the material it is sticking, however I have yet to find a glue that reliably sticks fabric and waterproof materials. I need to stick some patches on a canvas boat cover and my p...

Re: WRT

Pete glad you made it back 👍🏿. I am sitting on a sunny rock in one of the premier plots of our Friday night camp. No tunes, smoke or people but a well worth £5 more expensive for the pleasure! Kebab and bottle of red enhancing the experience.

Re: WRT

Sunday about 13.00? I had just had to push out the forest of gloopy bog so you may have passed me there. I went the wrong way and missed a right turn havin fun on the steep downhill. I don’t think I was the only one judging by the squashed marsh grass in front of me

Re: WRT

I am not sure which traumatised me more the stream or the guns but it caused me to miss a pub lunch and sit down on the petrol station forecourt with a bunch of fashionista, mug and camera dangling gravel bikers that I had assumed were in the WRT. It was only after a tuna sweetcorn I came to my sens...

Re: WRT

I have just made it back to Mach my arse can’t take the extra loop to Aberdyfi. The stream was fun, as was the last bit of the push up to the Star and I messed up the boggy wood and had to push out! Was the gun club in action when you rode through? I don’t know anything about guns but didn’t think m...

WRT - remote weigh in?

Let the annual shaming commence, I will go first.

I exceeded the 22kg luggage scales limit so it had to be 2 stage affair.

25kg rounded up to allow for a few last minute essentials!

Re: WRT

the first casualty of 2020 WRT? I did try and squeeze in sufficient breakfasts and dinners for 4 days, plus the usual stuff - bivvy bag, tarp, ground sheet and the obligatory stuffed 650 myti mug and cosy.

just booked my train tickets - what a pain to reserve a bike!

Anyone fancy sending me a gpx of their route - I am never going to get time this week to try and plot something.

Thanks in advance.

Mouse kills Lioness

I have been packing for my first overnight bike ride since lockdown. It has been a struggle remembering what not to take and where those essentials are stashed, but this has really upset me. Re: Tubeless Q.

I tried to turn my daughters bike tubeless yesterday (lock down boredom /weight saving/puncture resistance) but the wheels are schrader valves (same as a barrow). Normal tubeless presta valves wouldn't fill the rim hole so I chopped out the valve an old inner schrader tube, all good seating the tyre...

Re: Changing pads whilst out

A pad change in the beautiful Vosges mountains - I had put it off for an hour before realising the grating was spoiling my hard earned decent. Dont worry I didn't use the meths to clean the disc but had to take it out the frame bag to get to the tools and spares. The tiny pliers were a recommendatio...

Re: Genesis Vagabond - any good?

Sounds like a good price - Genesis bikes do seam to depreciate quickly. I would try if for size, I tried the large and it was too big so went for a medium despite my Longitude being a large.
