Re: Reasons for riding.

Just like it, the minimum of machinery to get a buzz, used to fall off/crash motorbikes as a youth. Discovered ‘mountain‘ bikes and didn’t look back, never too serious, skill set sadly lacking, but love being out on a bike. Went on to road bikes but now split 50/50 between both. Re: Battling the evil turbo

I’ve tried Zwift, RGT and Trainer Road. Trainer road works for me, run it on my phone whilst listening to podcasts and trying to watch stuff (intervals permitting) Originally used Zwift quite a bit, but the training programmes were not what I was looking for and you can’t shift them around like TR. ...

Practically a virgin in this,
Kona
Peugeot
Cannondale

Bianchi*
Cotic*
*still have.
Would love more, but hard to justify  A new bike next year to replace Bianchi is the plan at the moment.

Re: International book day

Just finished 438 Days by Jonathon Franklin, It’s about a El Salvadoran (?) fisherman adrift at sea for over 14 months. Survival at sea and long distance sailing are subjects that have interested me since I was a child after reading Survive the Savage Sea by Dougal Robertson. Love a good book, use a...

SeannyD,
Sean is my first name,
D is the first letter of my surname.
SeannyD lame extrapolation from Sunny Delight, the noxious ‘orange’ drink, that a friend started calling me, and has stuck (with her mostly) since then. Something to do with my lack of a sunny disposition.

Re: Bivvy a month 2020.

Hi Lazarus I had a similar predicament, usual old man piss, trying to keep one foot in/on the bivvy whilst try to piss far enough away to avoid it seeping back on me. I bivvyed at the little lookout on the rocky outcrop opposite (ish) the Sailing club. Loads of nice wee trails at Braefoot if you lik...

Re: Bivvy a month 2020.

Well that was fun. :-bd Really wild night glad I used a bivvy (academic really as I only have a bivvy bag at present). A tent would have been gone. A wee ride down the Fife coastal path and slept at one of the WW2 emplacements.
