Re: Yay, it's cheery Friday.

Right, so I'm at the YHA in Bath. Where the Romans used to stay apparently. The closest masjid was too close and it's Friday prayers day. Not compulsory on me as I'm a traveller! What would you do. Walk to the next closest masjid obviously via the most off road but direct route you can plan. Without...

https://i.imgur.com/4G2vqun.jpg My favourite Jersey and my first one from them lot that Stu thinks are too expensive. Just can't throw it away but equally I have bought another in slightly different colour from fleabay. Had some bobbling years ago but that's gone now as they are now miniature holes...

I think you and John Climber need to get out on a few rides Valerio. Maybe even get Alan Boardman over.

26.18 Rich. Ran the last mile to make the dental appointment. No food throughout, just water. Wasn't clever doing the running bit but I made the appointment by 10 seconds. :- )

Re: Fat Fighters '24. The year for deflation!

It would appear that tooth ache followed by tooth extraction is a great weight loss regime - lost over 2kg in 5 days. (75.85 to 73.4) I'm not sure I'd recommend it though. Well, I'm down by at least 2kg I reckon by now. Another 4kg and it'll take me to sub 80 I think. Hopefully that might be the straw that helped the camels back.

Very well said as always Stu and others. Yes, I really am convinced. Even got a £15 gym membership as it was £10 off for the month. Lol. Not sure what I'll do with it as most people ask me about not being a gym person. Best psych myself up like Eddie Hall (the idiot... but they'd call us that!?) bef...

Maybe you're right. But after today's ride (60 miles, Peaks, road) being the first since my wrist/nerve injury. The ride went OK but got home and it seems I'd maybe stretched it. A few times almost fell whilst using that hand for easy errands. Hence me using the 'in' head. Lol... Bearbones200. No pr...

Re: BB200 2024

And... I'm oot. Haven't recovered sufficiently from the crash last month. Did a 140KM ride last weekend and could bearly walk at the end of it, and that was East Angular miles, not Welsh hilly miles. My right hip and thigh are sore to the touch after Friday's wander around Duxford IWM, so I've just...

Re: PSA: best podcast I've heard this year (promoting sleep, reducing anxiety, fighting cancer etc)

Found his podcast a week or more ago. A bit hard/quiet to follow along but after checking his credentials on his website (double triple degrees and alot in health sciences/nuclear medicine) he's definitely good for accurate knowledge. Here he breaks down why he went into the nutrition industry/motiv...

Just get off and push Shaff. You are still making progress but giving contact points and legs a rest. Moving slow is better than not moving at all! This got me round in 2023 Thanks Phil/RD. Yes, just getting off and pushing a bit earlier is gonna really help. I think during training I try best not ...

First set of kettlebell squats (or any squats) since the little 'almost chopped my artery/nerve' incident. 10kg squats with a funny grip and 45ish reps. Also weight down to 85.1kg today which is the lowest I've been this year. Hoping to reach sub 80kg before next Friday. Eating well, just smaller wi...

Thumb is healing nicely (constant dabs of honey at the stab site means it's also knitting together nicely) but didn't wanna risk a bike ride just yet. Walked it instead to Sowerby Bridge for a very very very short work shift. Then walked back round to Huddersfield for the dentists. Last mile or so, ...

That's exactly the flowchart I try to use Steve. But I tend to overthink the training (the 120 miles preoccupies the mind) and start worrying it might. But, I have waterproofs; decent bivy stuff; a wrist joint that's managing to lay on plasterboard and Kingspan (type) with just some CoCodamol; the a...

Re: BB200 2024

Stabbed wrist yesterday and probably went close enough to the nerve to cause a little trauma (painfulwrist joint and umb thumb). Thankfully didn't bleed too much as we were quick in getting a pressure dressing on. Have emailed Stu with a potential pullout. Maybe the BB200 isn't planned to happen for...
