Re: Custom Frame Bags
They're not massively light, but the beerbabe bags are great - I've one for my stooge and another on my now dead full sus. Decent price too.

Re: Ham Curious
We use them for most of our camps at my scout group, and the kids love them... most of them have the aptly named DD scout model, but I agree with the above that they're a bit short for a tall person. I'm a side sleeper, and find them as comfy as a thick air mattress, and comfier than a lightweight o...

Re: The Dullest Square
I'm sure I've seen a previous reference to that Ousefleet one where the power line just crosses into it. Round my way, I reckon SK2683* and SK2973* are about as featureless as I'll get. *County boundaries don't count as physical features, do they? Not the most featureless, but I'd go for SK3990 for...

Re: WTD Drivetrain for the turbo bike
Sounds good, cheers! Sorry for the delay. I've a couple of cassettes, and probably chains too - no idea how worn though. I'll have another chain & cassette next weekend as I'm swapping the tandem to 10speed. Send me a message, and I'll sort posting. Yours for the cost of post plus whatever you ...

Re: Today's Run
A friend of mine, who is a pretty handy ultrarunner, has run that a couple of times, and she found it super tough! Until I spoke with Nicky about it the first time, it was something I thought I'd fancy a go at (with hopelessly optimistic thoughts of a fun run finish) but it's ridiculous... And a_wes...

That all looks excellent Verena! I'm down in Pembrokeshire at St David's for an unexpected few days in a cottage with my kids, my brother and his wife. Dusted off the nice old ti road bike, and went out for a couple of hours with Rob (my little brother) yesterday morning . Pembrokeshire is really l...

Re: Gravel bike clothing
That sounds about right to me Alpinum. I tend to wear road gear on the gravel bike, except for MTB shoes & gloves. Might swap the jersey for a fitted base layer with a water resistant lycra gillet (with back pockets) but baggy gear feels wrong at constant speed. That said, on a longer tour/multi...

Spent the day canoeing on the Loire, generally cheery until we put the 2 kids in the same canoe and they had a strop... And then booked a place for the BB200 second weekend

Trip to the foundry climbing wall with my daughter, some of my mates and 4 of their kids. Excellent session, I was climbing better than expected given a poorly shoulder and back. Had a good catch up with mates, and also finally got round to teaching Zoe to belay. Then she went and climbed what was l...

Re: Todays ride
Just a short ride today, 7am start from the holiday cottage while the rest of the family were in their beds. I'd done a ride yesterday which started on some interesting off road bits, but my mudguards were making a racket so I'd moved to tarmac. Took them off last night, and put all the riding gear ...

Re: What you done t' your bike today
Fitted some mudguards to my new London Road on Sunday... Turned out that they were a touch too wide for the fork, so fitted the old fork/front wheel/front brake from my previous bike. All reasonably good, and kept me less soaked for 50+ mies in Sunday evening's downpour. Rattly and clanging thought....

I've had a hunt, and theres 2 cassettes, 1 chain and a couple of Tiagra short cage rear mechs (only 1 jockey wheel between them though) if they're any use? Also an XT front mech.
