Re: Bivvy a month 2019

February ticked off last Friday. More or less a carbon copy of January, train to wigan, met Sam and John and rode a few miles through the woods to the pub. Met up with a few more guys and had some food. Then onto the bivvy spot for the worst night sleep I've had for a good while. Packed up and rode ...

I setup the jalco rims on my genesis cda no problem. I don't think they're tubeless rims but they've been fine

Shimano brakes

I've managed to strip the thread of my longitudes rear brake (reservoir cap screw) looking at getting a replacement but they don't seem to be easy to find just the lever for that specific brake. Being that they're also made of cheese i would consider changing to a different lever but does anyone kno...

Re: Bivvy a month 2019

I started my BAM on Friday night. I got the train to wigan to meet Sam, rode about 7 Miles to the pub for some tea and a beer. Carried on to the local woodland and got set up. The weather was good to us, we had a few more cans of beer and got in the sleeping bag at about midnight. Bacon barm and a b...

WTD. Jones loop 2.5

I know it's a long shot but does anyone have a Jones loop with the 2.5 rise that they don't get on with?

Re: Bike Packing Cooking

I've just bought a gas stove for this reason. I usually eat at a pub but as I'm going for BAM this year and I work shifts my bivvies are likely to be quite local. Rather than just leaving the house to sleep in a local wood I think it will increase my motivation if I cook a bit of decent grub while I...

Re: Attaching bottle cage to susp forks

I've used the decathlon mounts on the forks and used a couple of cable ties around the rubber straps to keep them from slipping, they were fine like that.

Re: 2019 - what you got planned?

I'm going for BAM in 2019. I've considered it before and failed miserably. I figure but putting it on here I'll give myself a bit more of a kick up the backside to get it done!

Re: The post man's been ...

A pair of tenn driven waterproof pants. Probably not as good as some of the more expensive brands but they look like they'll do s good job of keeping the rain out. they're lined too so can wear them against skin without them sticking in the rain.

650b

I've been thinking of getting a set of 650b wheels but not sure if the bike will take them. Is there an easy way to work it out? It's a genesis cda10. I can't find any info anywhere about if they will fit or not.

Re: New Luna Solo

Depending on how much abuse you intend to give it you could always look at the naturehike cloud 2. I'm 6ft 4 and it's plenty big enough for me. I sleep on a bit of an angle in it but that's fine if you're alone. I doubt it'd stand up to really bad stuff but it's around 1.3kg or less and I've been im...

Re: Inner tubes for 700x40c tyres

Nutrak do a 700 x 35/45 tube. I bought some yesterday for my cda. Was going to go tubeless but the tyres aren't tubeless and too loose on the rim. I'll go tubeless eventually when the tyres need swapping.

I think the CDA is perfect for all of that, I'll use mine for the odd night out too but probably use the longitude more for that.
