Re: Flats

Surprised nobody has mentioned Hope yet. I was a clipless user for years but a pair of f20 came on a bike I bought. Amazingly grippy, haven’t gone back to clipless.

WTD: trp spyre caliper

After one of these if anyone has a spare!

It’s for a flat mount frame but I believe these are non mount specific.

Thanks

Surly Pugsley Medium

I’ve decided to sell my Pugsley to help fund another purchase. It’s in pretty decent condition but there are a few scratches to paintwork (no exposed metal or dents though). I’m the third owner- purchased to bike pack on but shortly after buying it I acquired a brother big bro from a forum member an...

Oswestry

Hi, I am spending a week in a cottage in Wem near Oswestry next week. I see the GB divide route runs right through the area but is there anyone here with local knowledge that can help me loop it all together? Because of family I’m probably limited to 20-30 miles and will be on a gravel bike. Thanks

Re: Wtd… long shot - Fargo frame

Cheers but after a cheap option as I have a full build kit. My aim is to commission a custom build fargo alike from a uk frame builder next year and just want to test out proper dirt drop geometry

Wtd… long shot - Fargo frame

So I’m planning to get a once in a lifetime bespoke frame built eventually but my sensible self is telling me I should try a proper drop bar mtb off road before I commit. VERY long shot I know but is anyone looking to offload a medium Fargo (or perhaps a singular peregrine?)

I’m going to be selling a Brother Big Bro frame set fairly soon. Potential to sell as a complete or rolling chassis too. It’s a medium in orange - send me a DM if you’re interested

Re: Giving up booze

Gairym- very familiar. My social life has revolved around real ale and craft beer for years. I’m not an alcoholic, drinking doesn’t cause me any life problems other than the odd hangover but I like it so much I consume more than I should. I think my ideal situation would be to drink a couple of beer...

Re: Giving up booze

Moderation is my parents argument to me when I’ve suggested going teetotal. My parents are both lifelong regular drinkers and Type 2 diabetics. Everyone is different, with a unique life story and find certain things they are good at / bad at. I’d love to be able to have one glass of wine and leave t...

Re: Giving up booze

Thanks all this is very helpful. I wouldn’t describe my drinking as problematic, but I do feel as though I lose a lot of productive time due to alcohol. The older I get the less spare time I have and like most people on here, I want that time to be on the bike. It is crazy how drinking-centric our c...

Giving up booze

Done a week now and yet to feel much different other than having this strange feeling of being present in the evenings instead of being half...

Thanks Shaf but the one for sale is a Rizello which is an out and out road bike. If I hadn’t recently got my all city I’d be tempted though.

Re: Bespoke frame - anyone done it?

Thanks for the podcast link James. I love Bicycle Quarterly’s bike geekiness and the bikes I’ve owned over the 5 or so years I’ve read the magazine have been heavily influenced by what I’ve seen in there. I really didn’t understand planing until I built my first bike where I felt it - it’s an all ci...

+1 here for terra nova.

I got one dirt cheap after seeing someone post a bargain alert here. It’s very light and I can fit a full waterproof and food / tools. It’s also got these two little side zip pockets which are great for keys and phone.

Re: Bespoke frame - anyone done it?

Interesting stuff.

A mate of mine who has built a couple of his own frames has suggested before anything else I should have a bike fit. Given the level of investment I think I’m going to to do this first!

Re: Bespoke frame - anyone done it?

And of course, if you spec it to ride great loaded, what would it mean the ride is compromised when unloaded, which for me is 90% of the time. I’m glad you’ve joined the post Steven - perhaps this is one to take offline but do you think it’s possible to combine elements of your Bahookie and Stoater ...
