Re: Two man tents

I recently bought a Hubba Hubba but not used it yet. I got it from EMS rather the ULG as it was cheaper (and found EMS to be good to deal with so would recommend them). Came with free groundsheet too. The only draw back with the HH is the volume the poles take up (esp compared with my Lunar Solo pol...

Re: Bivvy a month 2018.

I can't really claim full membership but I've been out since April so here goes: 03: Glen Feshie. Not been out for a while so wanted an easy re-introduction. My mate Saudi Dave (SD) wanted to head down Glen Feshie, a confab with scotroutes and we had a plan. Speyside way to Insh Watersports Restaura...

Which particular engineering discipline?
Building services (HVAC & public health) through CIBSE.

It’s only taken me 19 years since my stage 1

Congrats.

Now you have that and have been in the job for a year - it's party time????
Why thank you.

Party? You know they closed all the phone boxes now, right?

Celebrating with a flexi day (for a change) tomorrow as it’s been 14 months now. And a bivvy trip (as you know) the weekend :-bd

Revelate harness and salty roll. Oh, and the wee front bag thing (process?).

Not by postie, picked up from backcountry.scot in person as I was in the area (no point in costing him postage).

Despite being the same order my 30 tooth chain ring and spare brake hose kit came in a big FO box but my replacement brake pads came in a separate padded envelope.... CRC at its best? Not bad considering I only ordered them Sunday afternoon.

Also delivered: Arvo Part The Symphonies cd. Yay!

Re: Todays ride

Abject failure. Supposed to cycle in to Loch Einich then pop up on to the plateau (by foot). The corrie exit (last 50-100m) was choked with dodgy snow so decided to beat the retreat. Thought I'd bivvy at the loch but it was too windy... Ah well, at least there's the pub. Oh, the ride back was still ...

Really, I’m not having a go. Yeah, detailing like that is craft/skill/art (she trained as a jeweller I think). I’m not saying she’s overcharging. Stuff like that takes time.

And, I think I may have mentioned it, that fork (crown) really is stunning.

Hell yeah, very much this...

It was only when I looked at the detail photos that I got it. Mind you if I was paying £5k+ I’d be wanting amazing detail!

Demi porkeur

Stumbled upon this: http://www.hartleycycles.com/camilles-demi-porkeur/ Now, it’s fucking expensive and not something I’d be entirely happy about it being left ‘locked’ outside a pub or cafe as my own usually is when on ‘adventure’ but that fork is a thing of beauty. Not for me but I’m glad somebody...

Rather than start a new thread I’m fully conundrumed up (to the ying yangs). Went to check out them quilts in Aviemore and I’m more confuddled than what I started with. Maybe I’m just a FF but I can’t see it working for me. Looked at both the quilt and comforter. My (admittedly bulky) -2 rated TNF b...
