Re: Eddie Bauer Sleep system

Well... i don't know much about it either, other that what google can tell. I was supposed to see it tonight but I think they've forgotten :???: What I have so far works ok in the UK, but experience tells me that it is nothing like warm enough for sleeping out in the Alps even in summer. As far as I...

Eddie Bauer Sleep system

Hi guys I have the opportunity to buy an Eddie Bauer air bender set up for about hundred squids. I haven't seen them before but it's a bag with an integrated mattress. E.g. https://www.backpacker.com/gear/eddie-bauer-first-ascent-airbender I can see the downsides and wouldn't buy one for a main set ...

Re: Cumulus quilt baffle Q

To avoid any besmirchment of the proud Cumulus name, I should say that the quilt is now back in the UK having been (I assume*) fully filled

(*I confess I'm not actually in the UK to check the work's been done)

It's very sad and hard to comment because it can so quickly sound like victim blaming but...that video isn't great is it. I mean....wear a white jersey at least...

Cumulus quilt baffle Q

Hi guys Long time no see, hope you're all well. I've just noticed - slightly embarrassingly as it's 3 years old now - that there is no down in one of the baffles on my Quilt. Could this be because I've washed it or is this something that came from the manufacturer? Every other baffle is fine apart f...

Re: The price of stuff.

Ive just got back from working a season in The Alps for a accommodation + guide company which costs a significant chunk of change for a week. It was interesting to see what people bought. After 5 years in NL I was somewhat behind on MTB trends so the first few weeks, I was flabbergasted by such thin...

WTD 29er Frameset Size S-M

Hi Guys After a whole season in the Alps my poor 29er race frame gave up the ghost in the last half an hour and cracked under the strain. Fortunately I can probably get a much more suitable bike at trade from the company I worked for but that leaves a hole in my bike garage for a bikepacking frame. ...

Finding Bivi Spots (Or...)

(...knowing when to stick with what you've got) Hi Guys So last week I was walking (sorry  ) the cornish coast path and bivi-ing. On both the nights I wild camped I found a decent spot (flat, water source, place for a swim in the sea etc.) but walked on past it for various reasons. First night...

Re: When farm dogs get nasty!

Dogs do seem to have it in for postmen. The best explanation I ve seen for this is that the dog sees the postman as a "thing" that comes onto their territory, they bark, then the "thing" goes away. Essentially every day is a victory for the dog - Obviously they don't clock that ...
