I hope so, just emailed them about my 2.5 year old Joystick which seems to have died due to water ingress.

Re: Wanted - 27.5+ or 29+

Can't help I'm afraid, but worth looking out for an old Longitude or similar Genesis. Should be a fair bit cheaper than the likes of Surly and Stooge, but nice enough and will do the same job.
I’ve given up my job and planning on heading out to cycle the Baja divide
Good call BTW :-bd

Re: 2023 Highlights

Thanks for reminding me that I'd started writing mine and then forgotten about it! Inspiration: Anyone who reminds me that, for me at least, proper big technical mountain rides are the ultimate rides (which may or may not be facilitated by sleeping out). Local bimbles, long bikepacking tours, road r...

I've made this one a couple of times: https://veganonboard.com/easy-vegan-tiramisu/ It does a very good impression of real tiramisu.

Re: Yay, it's cheery Friday.

The shortest day is now behind us, so that's got to be cheery. Got the wine (bargain £3.50 Bordeaux from Aldi) mulling and frozen homemade mince pies warming for my partner who's last day at work is today. Mine was yesterday, and you've reminded me I haven't set my out-of-office. Never mind, no-one ...

Re: Photos you have taken in the last month of which you like.

It was a shame that the lower cloud didn't break up more, and that I only had my phone since the proper camera's playing up, but still.

I remember seeing what I think were noctilucent clouds on a summer bivvy once. In the Lakes I think. One of the pros of a bivvy bag!

Re: Photos you have taken in the last month of which you like.

Binannual solstice walk-up-a-hill-to-look-at-a-rock yesterday morning (a day early because my partner was off work). Sunrise was underwhelming, but some fantastic cloudscapes with some great nacreous formations. This tradition is always a good reminder to get out when there's many reasons not to, be...

That's strange, given the solstice isn't till about 3 tomorrow morning. What's the relevance of East 17? "Stay another day"? I guess that would explain the prematurity :???:

Re: WTD ergo grips for mtb

I've got some of the Ergon ones with the wings and mini bar ends (can check exact model) that I've just taken off because I want to attach my pogies using bar end plugs. They're very well used but perfectly functional, can take some pics. Tenner to cover postage and a pint and I'll feed the rest to ...

Re: Bin There Dun That

Thanks Shaf! I think visibility up there is the exception rather than the rule. So many times I've driven up and down the stretch of the M6 just to the west going to and from the Lakes, and it might be nice everywhere else but you can see the cloud clinging to the edge of the Pennines. Ta Reg. We fe...

Bin There Dun That

Having missed this year's Scottish Winter Bivvy due to work, my friend Morne suggested we go up to Greg's Hut on Cross Fell this weekend. It seemed like a good idea at the time, but the forecast foretold of winds up to 70mph which made our plans to start in Weardale and ride through Teesdale and dro...

BAM bamboo clothing credit

I've got £10 credit at bambooclothing.co.uk as a "birthday present" from them. It's only valid for a week from now, and I've just bought some stuff from them, so don't need it. There's no minimum spend. If anyone wants to make use of it, they're welcome to it (feed the bear if you wish). I...

Perhaps one gains a psychological advantage simply by having paid someone a presumably large amount of money to teach them not to quit... could also be argued that the Yorkshire folk among us have an unfair advantage in that regard

Glad you found your light Phil. Yeah, there's some lovely quiet areas. I was looking at the Esk with a paddler's eye too, it looked a lot of fun with a good bit of water in it, particularly the rapids around Black/White confluence.

Pleasure was mine/ours Justin  Great to meet up with Phil and Jimmy again, and credit again to Phil for setting a date and location to tempt us out. I rode back via Castle O'er - a lot of fire road and tarmac, but it got some miles in. It started off damp and was absolutely lashing it down by ...

Aye, looks a bit damp, but this isn't the Scottish Summer Bivvy  I'll probably park in Langholm and take the fairly direct route up the Megget Water. Maybe a bit of a longer ride on Sunday, weather looks a bit better. Will PM you my number too Phil, and happy for you to share it on, seems a go...
